The Elkton Elks defeated visiting North Caroline's Bulldogs in the East Regional final game Friday night, November 18. "We were in this football game to win it," said Elkton head coach Matt Feeney. The team had lost last year to North Caroline and their victory this year tasted sweet. "We wrote last years score on a white board to be a reminder of what happened, a lot of the guys that played last year did not want to have the same result," said Feeney. The Elks were the first to score with a touchdown and point after kick. North Caroline's Bulldogs were unable to move the ball in the first quarter. The Elks continued to score with two more touchdowns, which brought the score to 19-0 at the end of the first quarter. In the second quarter the Elks shut down the Bulldogs, while scoring two more touchdowns and two point after kicks bringing the score to 33-0 at the half. After the half, the Bulldogs did come back, making three touchdowns and two point after kicks bringing the score to 33-20. The Elks were unable to move the ball in the third quarter. By the fourth quarter both teams fought hard to score but were unable to make any movement. The final score was 33-20. Jackson Argoe completed 8 of 11 passes, for a total of 152 yards and scored a touchdown. Colby Sewell ran 8 times for 47 yards, Jackson Argoe had 5 rushes for 62 yards, and Raiquon Estep had 26 rushes for 295 yards. He also scored four touchdowns. D'Onte Leigh had 2 receptions 37 yards, Tyrus Woodard had a reception 13 yards, and J'Qwan Benson had 4 receptions 90 yards and made one touchdown. "We weren't going to fold, we weren't going to let this ball get loose." said Feeney. "I'm proud of these boys, they ran into a tough football team, and they rose up. " said Feeney.
