Zachary Laird, Alex Longeway, John Knight, and Anthony Egurola each scored in their events to lead Bo Manor's boys track team to a second place finish in UCBAC meet. Edgewood won the boys competition with 106 points while Bo Manor scored 96. Harford Tech (84) was third followed by Bel Air (64), Havre de Grace (53), Perryville (50), Aberdeen (50), C. Milton Wright (48.5), North East (39.5), Elkton (28), Fallston (19.33), North Harford (17.33), Rising Sun (17), Joppatowne (16), and Patterson Mill (13.33). Laird placed first in the 3200 meter race with his teammate Longeway right behind him taking second. Laird was also second in the 1600 and Longeway took third. Knight and Egurola with teammates Robert Messick and Cameron Garcia took the second place win in the 4x200 relay and fifth in the 4x100. Egurola also placed fourth in the 110 hurdles and sixth in the 300 hurdles. Knight took second in the 400 race. "Its really big to have your teammate there to push you everyday. They are with you at practice pushing us. We are always pushing each other and we're always constantly together so its a big help sometimes," said Bo Manor runner Laird. Perryville's Caleb Robinson took second place in the 100 meter race and placed third in the 200. Alex Hernandez, Cage Jones, Chris Schuler, and Robinson collectively took the second place finish in the 4x100 relay. Jones also nabbed the pole vault. North East's Connor Yedinak placed second in the shot put and discus. Anneric Potts took fifith in the high jump. Sean McGowan placed second in the pole vault. Elkton's George Davis took fourth and teammate Dylan Shay took fifth in pole vault. Harford Tech (164.5) prevailed in the girls team competition ahead of C. Milton Wright (124.5), Bel Air (68), Perryville (63), Patterson Mill (46), Aberdeen (39), Edgewood (37), North East (26.5), Rising Sun (25.5), Elkton (21), Bo Manor (19), Havre de Grace (17), North Harford (17), Joppatowne (16), and Fallston (14). For Perryville, Emani Bell took the shot put and teammate Jarah Cevis took second. Cevis also placed second in the discus. McKayla Reeves placed fifth in the high jump. Ellie Kuhn took fourth in pole vault and fifth in the triple jump. Bo Manor's Kristen Waltz placed third in the 800 meter race adding points for the Eagles. For Rising Sun, Julia Herrman took third in the 1600 meter race. Emmagayle Cohen placed sixth in the high jump. North East's Niya Khanjar placed first in pole vault as well as beating her pr at 10 feet. "The biggest is don't think about the bar, think about the jump. Mostly (felt) relief because I hit it (the bar) and I thought it was coming down with me and it didn't. I just get ecstatic when I realize I hit a new pr," said Khanjar. Indian, Mikhaila Clark took fourth in the 100 hurdle event. Elkton's Asia Travers placed fourth in the discus. Comments are closed.
