Members of Quarryville Fire Company's special division will be holding their first Easter flower sale on Friday, April 19, and Saturday, April 20.
"Nobody in the area does this any more," member Erin Welk said. "We think there is a need to have a flower sale locally."
The volunteers will get their flowers from Hilltop Greenhouse, she said. The sale will be held at the fire station, 217 E. State St., from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Friday and from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday. Special division members will be selling potted tulips, daffodils, hyacinths, and lilies. Quantities may be limited.
The volunteers do not have a goal for the sale.
"This is the first time we've done it. We thought we would give it a try and see how it goes over," Welk said. Welk, pictured above on the right, stands with special division members Liz Henry, left, and Christy Heidinger as well as Heidinger's daughter, Lorraine.
Proceeds from the sale benefit the fire company.
