This year, volunteers will be holding the annual Southern End Community Association auction on one night, Saturday, November 10, instead of over two days.
In previous years, the auction started on a Friday night and resumed on Saturday.
"We decided to change the format," volunteer Carol Gibson said. "It will feel different this year, having everything on one night, and we hope the community supports it. … And we changed the date from November 9 in case Solanco's football team has a playoff game."
Several hundred children and their parents turned out for the Quarryville's Halloween Parade on Saturday evening, October 20. The parade began at Quarryville Elementary School and ended at the fire station, where members of Memorial United Methodist Church held a Trunk or Treat activity.
With a year's experience under their belts, organizers have added a partner and made some changes for Quarryville's annual Halloween parade.
"We've added trunk or treat this year," said organizer Lori Singles.
Trunk or treat will be held at the Quarryville fire station following the parade. It will be hosted by members of Memorial United Methodist Church.
