A 22-year-old man from Peach Bottom was killed when his motorcycle crashed as he was fleeing from police at 9 p.m. on August 1, State Police Corporal Jennifer R. Maguire reported.
According to the corporal, troopers tried to stop Cristian Barajas of Peach Bottom for a traffic violation. Barajas fled and police pursed him for about two minutes.
Barajas lost control of his 1985 Yamaha XJ700 on Rt. 272 near Lindemuth Ln. The cycle ran off the road and onto a grassy area and overturned several time. Police and EMS responders tried to revive Barajas but he was pronounced dead at the scene.
State police also reported the following incidents in the Southern End:
POSSESSION - Ryan Collins, 21, of Honey Brook, was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia after state police responded to a domestic dispute at 1083 Georgetown Rd. at 7:30 p.m. on August 2, Trooper Michael Levinsky reporte.d
THEFT - Anthony Johnson, 19 of Quarryville, has been charged with theft of a motor vehicle for allegedly taking an ATV from a property at the intersection of River Rd. and Chestnut Level Rd. Johnson was found with the ATV at 10 p.m. on July 26, Trooper Evan Buehrer reported.
EAST DRUMORE TOWNSHIP
THEFT - Someone stole mail from the mailbox at Buck Dental Health, 28 Friendly Dr., between 12:45 p.m. on July 3 and 8:10 a.m. on July 8, Trooper Matthew Weckesser reported.
VANDALISM - James Martin, 39, of Peach Bottom, has been accused of using a ball bat to smash the windows of a vehicle while it was parked at 752 Conowingo Rd., Trooper Levinsky reported. The incident occurred at 9:20 p.m. on July 10, the trooper said.
HARASSMENT - A 44-year-old man from Gordonville has been charged with pushing a woman to the ground during a domestic dispute at a Springville Rd. property on July 17, Trooper Nolen McElwee reported.
ID THEFT - Someone cloned a Stony Hill Rd. resident's debit card and then used the fake card to make more than $1,100 in purchases during a two-week period, Trooper Nolen McElwee reported. The purchases occurred between July 7 and 17, the trooper said.
COLLISION - There were no injuries in a single-vehicle collision in front of 196 Peach Bottom Rd. at 12:41 p.m. on July 18, Trooper Trevor Gauntlett reported.
According to the trooper, Adam J. Mahan, 19, of Conowingo, Md., was driving west when his pickup ran off the road and damaged two fences.
Mahan was not cited for the collision, the trooper said.
DUI - Billy Torrez-Walton, 25, of Oxford, was charged with driving under the influence after he fought with emergency medical workers on July 13, Trooper Anthony Urban reported.
Police and EMS were dispatched for a disabled motorist in the 600 block of Nottingham Rd. (Rt. 272) at 2:50 p.m. on July 13. When police arrived, they found Torrez-Walton had been struggling with EMS responders and was then unresponsive. It was determined he was under the influence of alcohol and Torrez-Walton was charged with driving under the influence.
COLLISION - There were no injuries in a one-vehicle collision on Holtwood Rd. north of Pencroft Dr. at 5:15 p.m. on July 14, Trooper Franklin Hood reported.
According to the trooper, Nathan R. Arms, 42, of Willow Street, was driving east on Holtwood Rd. when his pickup ran off the road, hit a guide rail, continued north on Penncroft Dr., and hit a mailbox. Arms continued to drive following the second collision, the trooper said.
Arms was cited for leaving the scene of an accident.
ID THEFT - Someone got access to a Hillview Dr. resident's account and debited it for $340 on July 3, Trooper Jonathan Cox reported.
DUI - Samuel Fleming Jr., 51, of Pequea, was charged with driving under the influence after state police stopped his vehicle for a traffic violation on Lancaster Pike North at Mt. Hope School Rd. at 4 a.m. on July 31, Trooper Chad Dohner reported.
VANDALISM - Megan Ann Greenawalt, 28, and Colton Oras, 26, both of Quarryville, were charged with vandalism following an incident in the 100 block of Groffdale Dr. at 8:41 p.m. on July 31, Trooper Trevor Gauntlett reported.
According to the trooper, Greenawalt kicked the windshield of a Ford Focus, causing it to break. Oras then drove Greenawalt from the scene.
ENDANGERING - Trey Turner, 26, of Quarryville, was charged with reckless endangerment following a police pursuit on May Post Office Rd. on July 21, Trooper Ryan Wildermuth reported.
Turner fled and eluded police; his motorcycle was later found and he was identified as the rider, the trooper said.
