A Peach Bottom resident who escaped from a prison in York County was captured by Quarryville police earlier this month.
Dakota Eldridge was found trying to hide in the bathroom of an apartment in Oak Bottom Village on September 16.
Police had seen him in the borough before that, but Eldridge managed to evade officers. When he was seen at the Turkey Hill Market on E. State St. son September 14, he ran off but dropped his wallet.
Officer Cheryl Thompson learned Eldridge may be staying in the Oak Bottom apartment. She and officers Beighley and Burns went to the apartment. Officer Thompson knocked on the door on the pretext of returning the wallet. When an occupant opened the door, the officer saw Eldridge run into the bathroom.
The three officers took him into custody without incident. Eldridge had drug paraphernalia and a plastic baggie containing methamphetamine residue.
Borough police charged him with two counts of possession of drug paraphernalia and he was taken to Lancaster County Prison on the felony escape charge.
