UPDATE: Kristie L. Forkl, 41, of Lackawanna, N.Y. has been charged with two counts of terroristic threats and two counts of threat to use weapon of mass destruction.
A bomb threat forced more than 1,000 campers out of Yogi Bear Campground, Blackburn Rd, East Drumore Township, on Saturday morning, May 25.
The campground was evacuated until police could bring in bomb-sniffing dogs and search the 53-acre site.
Campers were allowed to retrieve keys, medication, and pets before the police dogs arrived.
About nine dogs from law enforcement agencies in several counties were used for the search.
Once the bomb-sniffing dogs began their search, campers were not allowed into the facility.
Police sectioned off the campground, searching one area at a time. Once an area was searched, campers were allowed to return to it after they and their vehicles were scanned by the police dogs.
Quarryville and Gordonville fire companies were called to stand by, provide crowd control, and supply drinking water to displaced campers and police.
The search concluded in mid-afternoon.
No bomb was found.
The threat was similar to one made against a Yogi Bear campground in New York state about a month ago.
