Verlaine Fisher Hess, 67, of New Providence, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, April 12, 2017 at Hospice and Community Care. Born in Lancaster she was the daughter of Howard “Buck” and Arlene (Doulin) Fisher of New Providence. She was the loving wife of James D. Hess, Sr. for 48 years. Verlaine was a hairstylist and had operated Hair Creations Salon out of her home for many years. She was an active member of Wrightsdale Baptist Church. She loved spending time with her family, they were her life. In addition to her husband and parents, Verlaine is survived by 4 sons: James D. Jr., husband of Amy Hess of Maine; Christopher Hess of New Providence; Jason, husband of Cori Hess of New Providence; and Jeremy, husband of Rebecca Hess of Quarryville. Also surviving are 12 grandchildren and one great grandson due in May; a brother, Howard Fisher, Jr. and a sister, Carol Templeton. A memorial service will take place at Wrightsdale Baptist Church, 310 Little Britain Rd., Peach Bottom, PA 17563 on Tuesday, April 18, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. The family will receive friends immediately following the service. There will be a viewing at the church on Monday evening from 6-8 p.m. Please note, there will be no viewing on Tuesday prior to the service. Private interment will be in the New Providence Church of God Cemetery. At Verlaine’s request, kindly omit flowers.
