Shirley Joan Bomberger, 81, of New Providence, entered into rest on Friday, September 8, 2017. Born in Lancaster, she was the daughter of the late Sylvester and Sadie (Graybill) Nolt. She and her husband, J. Harold Bomberger were wed on Valentine’s Day in 1954 and they were married for over 63 years. Shirley had been employed for 22 years as a secretary by First Assembly of God and New Life Assembly of God churches in Lancaster, where she was also a soloist, choir member, and Sunday School teacher. She had attended Grace Baptist Church and New Providence Church of God. She enjoyed music, baking, crafts, traveling, and reading. In addition to her husband, Shirley is survived by a son, John H. Bomberger, Jr., husband of Jean E. (Delong) of New Providence; and 2 grandchildren, and Leah A. Edwards, wife of Joshua, Eric J. Bomberger, husband Sabrina and a great-grand daughter, Nadija Edwards. Also surviving are two brothers: James R. Nolt, husband of Jackie and J. Donald Nolt, husband of Esther.
She was preceded in death by two sisters: E. Jean Mull and Betty J. Buckwalter. A Memorial Service will take place at Dewald Funeral and Cremation Services, 227 W. 4th St. Quarryville, PA on Tuesday, September 12, 2017 at 6:00 p.m. with Pastor Dwight Lefever officiating.
