Shirley E. (Roland) Gregg, 83, of Quarryville Presbyterian Retirement Community, entered into rest on Thursday, February 28, 2019. Born in Quarryville, she was the daughter of the late John H. and Mattie Belle (Richardson) Roland. She was married to the late Robert E. Gregg. Shirley was a honor graduate of Empire Beauty school and worked as a self-employed hairdresser. She retired from Conestoga View (hairdresser) and the former St. Joseph Hospital (as CNA) in Lancaster. She was of the Christian faith and part of the Baptist denomination. She enjoyed craft sewing, canning and gardening. She will be remembered for her easy laugh and contagious giggle. Shirley is survived by 5 children: Theodore Gregg of Shrewsbury; Cindy, wife of Kevin Manuel of Washington Boro; Coni, wife of George Summy of Manheim; Rosa, wife of Daniel Herr of Lancaster; and Alisa, wife of Steven Eshbach of Lancaster. Also surviving are 9 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren, 3 siblings: Myranelle Sheets, Mabel Phipps, and Herb Roland.
She was preceded in death a daughter, Cherrine Gregg, her fiancé, Gilbert Snyder and 9 siblings. A funeral service will take place at True Gospel Baptist Church, 853 Scotland Rd., Quarryville on Wednesday, March 6, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. There will be a viewing at the church from 10-11 a.m. Private interment will be in the Chestnut Level Presbyterian Cemetery.
