Michael S. Slusser, 59, of New Providence PA, passed away on Saturday, December 2, 2017. He was the husband of Elaine S. Pelletier Slusser. They had celebrated 35 years of marriage. Michael was born in Berwick PA, a son of the late Donald A. and Bernice McMurtrie Slusser. He grew up on the family farm in Bloomsburg, graduating from Central Columbia High School. He then attended Penn State University. Michael had been employed for 37 years by Exelon, working at Peach Bottom Nuclear Plant. He was an avid boater, and enjoyed spending time with his family fishing in Ocean City, MD. Michael also enjoyed hunting, and had been a member of the Lancaster Archery Club. Spending time with his 3 grandsons was very important to him. In addition to his wife Elaine, he is survived by 2 children, Scott M. (Robin) Slusser, Asheville, NC, Liz (Eric) Ackerman, Ephrata, 3 grandsons, Coen, Casen, Oliver, and his brother Thomas Slusser (Peg). He was predeceased by a brother, Anthony Slusser.
Friends are invited to attend a memorial service at Willow Street United Church of Christ, 2723 Willow Street Pike North, Willow Street, PA. on Saturday, December 9, 2017, at 4:00 PM. The family will visit with friends at the church following the memorial service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to International Myeloma Foundation.
