Marion Ruth Pinckney, 90, of Quarryville went home to be with Jesus on June 30, 2018. Marion was born in New York City and graduated from Hunter College. Together with her husband, Reverend Earl Pinckney, she served as a missionary in Brazil and Chile. Marion’s life was centered on serving God and others through music. While in Quarryville the last 23 years, she gave piano lessons, concerts and nourished many in local churches, the community and the residents of Quarryville Presbyterian Retirement Community with her music. Up until two months before her passing, Marion played piano and organ for Faith Reformed Presbyterian Church, where she was a member. Left to honor and remember her love are her 2 sons, Jim (Suzanne) and Reverend Daniel (Iara), grandchildren – Todd (Jess), Daniel, Laura (Rob Stanz) and David (Ashley) ; 2 great grandchildren – Jordan and Juliette, nieces and nephews and countless friends. Marion was preceded in death by her husband, the Reverend Earl Pinckney. Thank you to all her friends in the Quarryville community who have loved and cared for Marion and our family. A special thanks to the staff at QPRC including the dining room and skilled care for their amazing care and love for Marion.
Memorial services will be held in the Ellingsworth Auditorium of the Quarryville Presbyterian Retirement Community, 625 Robert Fulton Hwy., Quarryville, PA on Monday, July 2, 2018 at 1:30 p.m. Traditional interment will be private in the Quarryville Cemetery.
