Marian K. Holloway, 92, of Peach Bottom, passed away peacefully in Lancaster on March 7, 2015. Born in Fulton Twp. on June 5, 1922, she was the youngest daughter of the late William J. and Eva (Smith) Kirk. Marian was the loving wife of the late Clifford Holloway, Jr. who died in 2013. Marian graduated from the former Fulton High School in 1939 and the former Quarryville High School in 1940. She went on the graduate from Lancaster School of Cosmetology as a licensed beautician in 1941. Marian and her late husband married on November 2, 1947. She invested her life in her family. Among her interests were traveling, needlepoint, cooking and baking. Marian was always willing to try and also share her recipes with others.
Marian was a member of Fulton Grange for 52 years and served in the offices of both Ceres and Pomona. She also taught homemaking skills at 4-H in both Harford county, MD and Lancaster County, PA. She was a member of the Deer Creek Friends Meeting in Darlington, MD. She is survived by her two children of Peach Bottom, daughter, Carole and her husband, James Huber and son Clifford Holloway, III and his wife, Joyce (Galbreath) along with 7 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by three sisters; Hazel Bergey, Velma Webster and Loretta Boyer and also a great grandson, James Samuel Dondore. Funeral Services will be on Thursday, March 12, 2015 from Dewald Funeral & Cremation Services, Inc., 227 West Fourth Street, Quarryville, PA beginning at 11:00 a.m. with interment to follow in Penn Hill Friends Burying Grounds. Viewings will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday evening from 6:00 – 7:00 p.m. and again on Thursday one hour prior to the service.
