Marguerite M. Maloney, 82, of Oxford, PA passed away on Thursday, February 4th, 2021 at Brandywine Hall Nursing Home in West Chester, PA where she was a resident since 2012. She was born on October 8,1938 in Plainfield, Connecticut, daughter of the late Louis and Blanche Pratte. After her marriage to John F. Maloney in 1958 they lived and farmed in Bear, Delaware for 14 years, moving to Oxford, PA, where they lived and farmed from 1972 thru 1985. Mrs. Maloney was a long-time member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Oxford where she enjoyed singing in the choir. She also volunteered as a member of the Religious Education staff. Faith in God and Catholicism were extremely important to her. After raising her family, she worked for a short time at the Southern Chester County YMCA in West Grove PA as a child care attendant. Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by John F. Maloney, her husband of 41 years and her brothers, Raymond and Edward Pratte Marguerite is survived by her 9 children, Deborah (Richard) Dickerson of Oxford, Rev Joseph Maloney of Pottstown, PA, Marie (Thomas) Euston of Newark, Delaware, John (Kathy) Maloney of Oxford, Donald (Amy) Maloney of Townsend Delaware, James (Lissa) Maloney of Oxford, Ellen (Joseph) Anderson of Newark, Delaware, Patricia (Dennis ) Anderson Jr. of Newark, Delaware, Elizabeth (Brian) Roberts of West Grove, PA, 13 grandchildren Kelli Lyons of Newark, Delaware, Donny (Alexa) Maloney of Townsend, Delaware, Dennis J. Anderson of Newark, Delaware, Josh Maloney of Oxford, PA, Kaitlyn Maloney of Cedar Falls, Iowa, Jennifer Anderson of Newark, Delaware, Amanda Maloney of Oxford, PA, David (Megan) Maloney of Kenton, Delaware, Joseph Anderson Jr. of Newark, Delaware, Sharon Anderson of Newark, Delaware, Anthony Anderson of Newark, Delaware, Timothy Roberts of West Grove, PA, Abigail Roberts of West Grove, PA, and 5 great grandchildren, Kolton, Chloe, Willow, Clay and Carter. She is also survived by four nieces Joanne Garbacz of Englewood, Florida, Cindy Pratte of Claymont, Delaware, Mary Anne McGreevy of Wesley Island, New York, Adrienne Doane of Naples, Florida one Nephew Raymond “Sonny” Pratte of Naples, Florida and several great nieces and nephews.
There will be viewings at Sacred Heart Catholic Church at 203 Church Rd. Oxford, PA 19363 from 6-8PM on Thursday February 11th and from 10-10:45 AM on Friday, February 12th. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 11 AM. Burial will immediately follow at St. Patrick’s Cemetery at 460 N. Union Street, Kennett Square, PA. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Arrangements are being handled by the Edward L. Collins, Jr. Funeral Home, Inc. Oxford, PA.
