Louise D. Warfel, 81, of Peach Bottom, entered into rest on Monday, April 30, 2018 at home, surrounded by her family. Born in Grayson Co., VA, she was the daughter of the late Charlie P. and Fannie (Kilby) Duvall. Louise attended schools in Virginia, North Carolina and Pennsylvania. She was of the Baptist faith since childhood and will be sorely missed by her family and friends. She is survived by sons: John C. “Jack” Warfel and Frankie D. Warfel both of Peach Bottom; along with three grandchildren and four great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by four brothers: Rudolph, Randall, Robert and Roger Duvall. She was married to the late Harold H. “Jim” Warfel. Louise worked as a colorist for photographic studios (Shelly’s and Peel’s) in Lancaster for 10 years, before teaching and modeling for companies such as Armstrong, RCA, Trojan Boat, PPL, etc. She modeled for local department stores and specialty shops. She also worked for the family owned bus business and Warfel Trucking, Inc. Louise was president of Willow Street Auto Auction until it was sold. Following retirement, she founded and managed Wakefield Self Storage.
Funeral services will be on Tuesday, May 8, 2018 at 11:00 am at Chestnut Level Presbyterian Church, 1068 Chestnut Level Rd., Quarryville with Pastor Mick Brown officiating. Interment will follow in the adjoining cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church on Tuesday from 10:00 until 11:00 am.
