Keith E. Cushman, 74, of Strasburg, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, February 21, 2024. Born in Caribou, ME, he was the son of the late Dana and Mary Ruth (Hill) Cushman. He was the loving husband of Judy M. (Dunnett) Cushman for 52 years. Keith grew up on a potato farm in Maine and was a 1970 graduate of New Brunswick Bible Institute. He was an ordained minister having served as pastor of Easton United Baptist Church, Easton, ME; Woodland First Baptist Church, Colby Siding, ME; Dyer Brook Community Church, Dyer Brook, ME; Bristol United Baptist Church, Bristol, NB; So. Portage Baptist Church, Nashwaak Bridge, NB; Winterport Baptist Church, Winterport, ME; Maranatha Riverside Church, Lincoln, ME; and St. Stephens Presbyterian Church, Sunny Corner, NB. After moving to Strasburg, PA, Keith became a member of Grace Baptist Church, Millersville. Keith was passionate about Bible Study and teaching the Scriptures. He enjoyed regular exercise, especially hiking. He hiked to the top of Mt. Katahdin over 100 times. Keith loved spending time outdoors, as it was a place of rest and retreat for him. He enjoyed gardening, hunting, fly fishing, and in later years playing golf. He also enjoyed music; singing and playing violin. He especially enjoyed sharing these experiences with his family, children and grandchildren. He was a faithful and devoted husband who greatly appreciated his wife’s support over all their years of ministry.
In addition to his wife, Keith is survived by 3 children: Karen, wife of Gordon Pawson of Strasburg; Kevin Cushman of TX; and Jason Cushman of MN; 5 grandchildren; and 7 siblings: Caldon, Barbara, James, John, Paul, Timothy, and Michael. He was preceded in death by a brother, Garth. A Memorial Service will take place at Grace Baptist Church of Millersville, 121 Walnut Hill Rd., Millersville, PA on Monday, February 26, 2024 at 4:30 p.m. The family will receive friends for a time of light refreshments following the service. Traditional interment will be private in the Strasburg Mennonite Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Grace Baptist Church of Millersville.
