Kathryn M. (McAvoy) Nicholl, 90, of Nottingham and formerly of Marmora, NJ, entered into rest on Monday, June 1, 2015 at her home. Born in Yeadon, PA, she was a daughter of the late James and Julia (Cusick) McAvoy. She was married to the late Robert A. Nicholl who passed away in 2002. Kathryn was a homemaker and had worked in the Villanova University book store. She raised her family in Havertown and then retired to Marmora, NJ. She had been active in the St. Maximilian Kolbe Parish in Marmora, where she served in the legion of Mary and was also the treasurer of the mature adults for several years. Kathryn also volunteered for the Holy Redeemer food bank. Kathryn is survived by her children: Robert, husband of Ava Nicholl, Linda, wife of Thomas Delany, David Nicholl, William, husband of Elaine Nicholl and Kathryn, wife of Conrad Szlaczky. Also surviving are 12 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
A memorial mass will be celebrated at St. Maximilian Kolbe Parish, 200 Tuckahoe Rd, Marmora, NJ 08223 on Friday, June 5, 2015 at 12:00 p.m. Interment will follow in the Cape May County Veteran’s Cemetery, Cape May Courthouse, NJ. Memorial contributions may be made to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, 6931 Arlington Rd., 2nd Floor, Bethesda, MD 20814. Arrangements entrusted to Dewald Funeral and Cremation Services, Quarryville.
