Jim Dydo born in Wernersville, PA in 1943 to Ruth Evans Dydo and Alexander Dydo died Thursday, February 22, 2024. He grew up in Coatesville, PA where he graduated from Scott High School in 1963. Jim married his high school sweetheart (married almost 60 years), Alice Whitman, and they had a son Christopher. Jim and his family spent 20 years living in Downingtown, PA as Jim acquired various vocational skills ranging from machinist, union shop steward, to polymer lab technician at ICI/Asahi in Thorndale, PA. Jim and Alice built their dream house and moved to beautiful Nine Points, Lancaster County, PA in 1987. Jim enjoyed many friendships in the southern Lancaster County area and was a member of the Eastern Lancaster County Rod & Gun Club, The Ancient Order of Croaking Frogs, Freemasons, and St. Anthony’s Lodge. Although Jim loved the outdoors (hunting, fishing, recreational target shooting, yard work), his favorite activity was being a grandfather. He loved spending time with (and bragging about) his two grandchildren, Callie Dydo (Boston, MA) and Trevor Dydo (State College, PA), and being their “Pap”. Jim and Alice spent his last few years living in Wernersville, PA next door to his son and daughter-in-law. This provided Jim the opportunity to expand his circle of friends by making his “rounds” to the Lebanon Valley and Cushion Peak Rod & Gun Clubs as well as the Reinholds VFW. He also enjoyed spending time with his furry grandchildren – Rosie and Nora (Chris & Jen’s golden retrievers).
Jim will also be remembered for one of his favorite sayings of “I can’t do it all” and flashing a quick smile. We will always imagine hearing him say “hey bud” one more time. We couldn’t ask for a better husband, father, and grandfather. Jim will be missed every day, but his memory will live in the hearts of all those who loved him. Jim was preceded in death by Alex Dydo (father), Ruth Evans Dydo (mother), and Charles Dydo (brother). Jim is survived by Alice Whitman Dydo (wife), Chris Dydo (son), Jennifer Grimm Dydo (daughter-in-law), Callie Dydo (granddaughter), Trevor Dydo (grandson), and Thomas Dydo (brother). A private family celebration of life ceremony for Jim will be held at a future date. Comments are closed.
