Harold Andrew (Andy) Jackson, 100, of Peach Bottom, PA entered into rest June 2, 2014. He was the husband of Eva Weaver Jackson. They were married in 1934 in Little Britain Presbyterian Church. They celebrated their 80th wedding anniversary March 21, 2014. Andy was the son of the late Leiper G. and Ila Bradley Jackson. He was baptized in Little Britain Presbyterian Church where he has been a life time member. Mr. Jackson attended Little Britain schools and was a graduate of Quarryville High School. He was a dairyman and crop farmer for most of his life. Andy was a member of Washington Lodge # 156 F. & A.M., Quarryville. He belonged to the Gun Club of Oxford, PA where he enjoyed trap shooting. He also enjoyed many years of small game hunting. He was a past member of the Board of Directors of the former Hamilton Bank, Quarryville, from 1967-1986. He enjoyed singing in the Little Britain Church choir for many years, and also sang with the Solanco Men’s Chorus.
Andy enjoyed farming and sitting under the shade tree in later years watching the neighbor’s farm. Andy is survived by his wife Eva, Peach Bottom, PA,; 3 children, Anna Mae, wife of Kenneth Miller, Lancaster, Ruth Ann Murphy, South Carolina, Andrew, husband of Shirley (Burton) Jackson of Little Britain Twp.; 12 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, 5 great great grandchildren; 2 sisters, Dorothy Brown, Quarryville, Marion Wilson, Quarryville, and a brother Robert Jackson, Elkton, MD. He was predeceased by a brother, Horace Jackson,; sisters, Anna Weaver, Sara Myer, Hazel Walton; grandson, Robert Murphy and great grandson Geoffrey Walp. Friends are invited to attend the funeral service, Friday, June 6, 2014 at 11:00 A.M. at Little Britain Presbyterian Church, 255 Little Britain Church Road, Peach Bottom, PA. with pastor Thomas Milligan officiating. There will be a visitation one hour prior to the funeral service from 10-11:00 A.M. Burial will be in Little Britain Presbyterian Church cemetery.
