David E. Reed, 66, of Quarryville, passed away on October 24, 2023, surrounded by his loving family, to join his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. He is survived by his devoted wife of 20 years, Rita Rhoads Martinez Reed, and his cherished stepchildren Juan Martinez (Ashlee Griggs), Carlos Martinez (Elizabeth Yohey), Jerome Martinez (Melissa Adams), Rosa Martinez, and Manuel Martinez (Kaitlin Marquis), who brought immense joy to his life. His heart also belonged to his ten grandchildren, whose laughter and mischief filled his days with happiness. A graduate of Wintersville High School, Ohio, David served in the U.S. Army before pursuing his studies at Ohio State University. His commitment to faith was evident through his active involvement in the New Holland Spanish Mennonite Church, where his contributions to the preaching rotation were deeply valued.
When he wasn't sharing his passion for spirituality and discipleship, David could be found cheering for his beloved Pittsburgh Steelers and Pirates, his enthusiasm for sports an integral part of his vibrant personality. Prior to his dedicated work as the IT Director for Integrative Health Consults and his invaluable assistance with IT for Birth Care Midwifery Birth Center, David spent his earlier years exploring the open roads as a long-distance trucker. His dedication and skills made a significant impact in every role he undertook. David's life was a testament to love, dedication, and unwavering faith. He will be deeply missed but forever remembered for his kindness, generosity, and the warmth he brought into the lives of those around him. In celebrating his life, let us cherish the precious moments and memories he gifted us.
