Daniel E. Hollinger, 68, of Broadmoor Drive, Willow Street, PA died Thursday, September 27, 2018 following a ten month illness. He and his wife Susan D. Armer Hollinger celebrated 46 years of marriage. Born in Lancaster, PA he was the son of the late Melvin L. and S. Lois Witmer Hollinger. Daniel had been employed by Burnham Boiler /US Boiler Company for 47 years as a production worker. For the past 17 years he was president of the GMP Local #287. A US Navy veteran of the Vietnam War, serving from 1968-1972, he served on the USS Shangri La Aircraft Carrier. An avid hunter, he was a member of the Lone Pine Lodge in Tioga County. He also enjoyed golfing and was a huge fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers. Surviving beside his wife Susan are 5 siblings, Barbara (Travis) Kilgro of Gadsden, AL, Donald M. (Susan) Hollinger of Manheim, Robert L. Hollinger of Lancaster, Dorothy (Glenn) Finch of Gadsden, AL, and J. Richard (Penny) Hollinger of Willow Street.
Funeral services will be held at Middle Octorara Presbyterian Church, 1199 Valley Road, Quarryville, PA on Tuesday, October 2, 2018 at 11:00AM with Pastor R. Blake Deibler officiating. Interment will follow in the adjoining cemetery. A viewing will be held at the church form 10:00AM until he time of service.
