Clarence J. Cox, 88, formerly of Lancaster, died Tuesday, February 28, 2017 at Masonic Homes. He was the husband of the late Virginia Hall Cox. Born in Oxford, PA he was the son of the late Frank G. and Marie E. Dubbs Cox. Clarence was a 1956 graduate of Elizabethtown College with a degree in Business Administration, which lead to his career in industrial engineering with the former RCA Company, General Electric and Thompson Electric. A veteran, he proudly served his country in the US Air Force during the Korean War. His memberships included the Lancaster Church of the Brethren, Free and Accepted Masons, Ephrata Lodge, #665, Lancaster and Reading Consistory’s, the Lancaster Business Club, and the former Industrial Engineering Society. He enjoyed golfing, hunting, and riding the train to Pittsburgh to visit family. Surviving him are two daughters, Carla L. Cox wife of Richard P. Hrenko of Monroeville, PA, Tricia A. Cox of Lancaster; and a sister T. Grace Ziegler of Myerstown.
He was preceded in death by 6 siblings, Frank G. Cox, Jr., Evelyn E. Myer, Marie Yuninger, Winona Kinzer, Stanford F. Cox, and James F. Cox. Funeral services will be held at Reynolds Funeral & Cremation Services, Inc., 144 East State Street, Quarryville, PA on Thursday, (Today), March 2, 2017, at 11:00AM with Pastor J. Calvin Wenger officiating. Interment will follow in Mechanic Grove Brethren Cemetery. A viewing will be held from 10:00AM until the time of service. Masonic services will be held at 10:45AM.
