Carolyn Wagner Karabaich, 94, of Willow Street, and formerly of Holtwood, entered into rest peacefully on Thursday, July 26, 2018, at her home while under hospice care. Born in Rawlinsville, she was the daughter of the late Clyde “Sonny” and Ella Pearl “Dolly” (Trissler) Wagner. She was married to the late Joseph A. Karabaich for 67 years. Carolyn was a 1942 graduate of Quarryville Highschool and had worked for the Hamilton Watch Co. and the Schick Corp. She was an active member of Bethesda United Methodist Church. Carolyn was an avid Phillies fan and enjoyed playing cards and board games with her family and friends, especially Pinochle and Scrabble. She would often talk about how wonderful it was growing up in Holtwood. She wrote an article about being raised in Holtwood that was published in the Lancaster Newspaper. Carolyn is survived by 2 sons: Joseph, husband of Andrea of New York; and David, husband of Susan of Lancaster; 4 grandchildren: Heather, David, Michael and Nicholas; and 5 great-grandchildren: Alexis, Hayley, Peyton, Leah, and Patrick. She was preceded in death by a son, Thomas, husband of Bobbe and a sister, Jean.
A memorial service will take place at Bethesda United Methodist Church, 1086 Hilldale Road, Holtwood, PA on Saturday, August 11, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow the service in the adjoining cemetery.
