With a somber heart full of gratitude for a life beautifully lived, we honor Beverly Anne (Smith) Conklin, as she finds her peace in heaven. Born in Windsor, NY on August 19, 1947, Bev's legacy of love, generosity, and unwavering faith has touched and inspired all who knew her. Known for her boundless compassion, Bev judged no one and forgave everyone, setting an example of grace for all to follow. Together with her loving husband, Dave, Bev cherished a marriage spanning an incredible 57 years. Their journey together bore the family she loved so deeply: their daughter, Deborah Anne (Conklin) Ryan and her husband, Timothy; their son, David Alan Conklin and his wife, Jodi; and their cherished grandchildren Angie, Cheyanna, Cayden, Aaron, Emily, Haley, Matthew, Marcus, and several great grandchildren. Bev was also a beloved sister to Wanda Chisarick, Shirley Best, Marie Benedict, and the late Fred Smith. In her professional life, Bev's dedication as a group leader at Maxima in Lancaster, PA was evident, with a service that spanned over three decades and included numerous awards. Her passion extended beyond work; her love for travel saw her and her husband, Dave, embark on a memorable two-month journey across the country, exploring its many wonders.
Bev's character shone brightly in her everyday actions. A devout follower of Jesus, she embodied His teachings in every aspect of her life. With a heart that sought to serve before being served, Bev poured love into every meal, cherished her neighborhood friendships, and hosted lively family get-togethers marked by games and her favorite – ranch dressing. In her final days, Bev spoke with heartfelt anticipation about reuniting with her mother, whom she lost in her youth and commonly talked about throughout her life. A special mention must be made of Mary Tart, Bev's caregiver. Often referred to by Bev as "her angel," Mary's care, love, and support have been an anchor for the family. The many that have been involved in spending time with Bev deserve a massive thanks as well. A Celebration of Bev’s life will take place at Freedom Life Church, 447 Noble Rd., Christiana, PA on Friday October 20, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. The family will greet friends at the church from 10-11 a.m. There will be a luncheon following the service. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests honoring Bev's spirit of generosity: purchase a $10 Chick-fil-A gift card and give it to someone less financially fortunate than you. In this gesture, as in life, Bev's legacy of love, faith, and service will continue to inspire and her spirit will live on in every act of kindness. Arrangements entrusted to Dewald Funeral and Cremation Services, Inc. Quarryville. Comments are closed.
