Betty R. Temple, 90, of Quarryville, entered into rest on Friday, September 28, 2018. Born in Chester, PA, she was the daughter of the late G. Leslie and Ruth (McDowell) Widdowson. Betty and her husband, Charles E. Temple, Jr. would have celebrated 70 years of marriage next month. Betty graduated from the former Swarthmore High School in 1947. An entrepreneur, she acquired Clean Enterprises dry cleaning and laundry business in 1969. Betty went on to expand the business to self-serve laundry and car washes in several locations and in the mid 80’s, it was the largest operation of its kind in Lancaster County. Betty was a member of Little Britain Presbyterian Church. She enjoyed collecting baskets and bears. Betty loved her grandchildren and cherished the times they spent together at the beach. Surviving besides her husband Charles, is a daughter, Linda M. Kirk, a son, Charles Temple, III, husband of Judy Bushong, and a daughter, Velma R., wife of Charlie Hart, along with 8 grandchildren, and 8 great-grandchildren. Funeral Services will be on Saturday, October 6, 2018 at Little Britain Presbyterian Church, 255 Little Britain Church Road, Peach Bottom, PA 17563 at 11:30 am., followed by interment in the adjoining cemetery. There will be a viewing prior to the service at the church from 10:00 – 11:30 am. Casual attire is requested.
