Sherryl Renee Barr, 63, of New Providence, PA passed away peacefully at her residence on Monday, December 14, 2020. She and her husband, John T. Barr, Sr. celebrated 45 years of marriage. Born in Altus, OK, she was the daughter of Dorothy Jean Parker of Burleson, TX and the late George Ronald Hacking. A homemaker, she enjoyed photography, traveling, flowers, especially Irises, going to the beach, but most of all spending time with her family, being a loving wife, mother, and nana. Lisa L. Frackman Fisher, 62, of Pequea passed away peacefully of natural causes on Sunday, December 13, 2020. She was the loving wife and partner of Stephen S. Fisher, Jr. for 42 years. She was the matriarch of our family. Born in Lancaster, she was the daughter of Clayton and Joyce E. Reinfried Frackman of Willow Valley. Lisa was a faithful Christian and former member of First Presbyterian Church of Strasburg. She was a homemaker, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. Lisa was a compassionate spirit whose passion was caring for others. She participated for over twenty years as a volunteer at CONTACT Lancaster, a crisis intervention line, and delivered meals to families in need. She was a hard worker, an exceptional cook, and always on the go. If she was not playing tennis, she was babysitting her grandchildren and serving the community around her. Eugene W. Bolt, 88, of Oxford, PA passed away Saturday, December 12, 2020 at Ware Presbyterian Village, Oxford. He was the husband of the late Dorothy Brown Bolt. Born in Pikeville, KY he was the son of the late Thomas and Josephine Gooslin Bolt. He was a veteran of the US Army serving in the Korean War. Eugene was employed with Container Corp of America, Wilmington, DE as a machine operator. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and spending time with his family. Abram L. King, age 15, Rachel L. King, age 13, and Rebecca L. King, age 6, of 590 Spring Hill Road, Quarryville, passed away on Monday, December 14, 2020 as the result of a roadway accident.
Born in Quarryville, they were the children of Menno Z. and Sarah F. Lapp King and attended the Old Order Amish Church. Marlene L. Lefever, age 86 of Lititz, passed away on Monday, December 14, 2020 at Landis Homes. She was the wife of Charles J. Lefever, Jr. with whom she celebrated 63 years of marriage. Born in Lancaster, she was the daughter of the late Larry Amway and Maude Evans Amway Ranck. Marlene was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Strasburg where she served as a deacon and taught Sunday school. She worked for the Conestoga Valley School District in the cafeteria and for Ressler Mill Foundation as a tour guide. In her free time. Ramona V. Leonard, age 92, of Christiana, passed away on Sunday, December 13, 2020. She was the wife of the late Loron W. "Bud" Leonard, Sr. Born in Towanda, PA, she was the daughter of the late Viola Vanderpool. She had worked at the former Frank IX and Sons in New Holland. She enjoyed Bingo, yard saling, playing the slots at casinos, Nascar, the Steelers, sewing and her fur cat Lovey. Most of all she enjoyed time with her family. She is survived by 4 children: Carol Dyer of Atglen, Wayne (Connie) Coolbaugh of New Providence, Steve Leonard of Pequea, Gloria Estrada of State College, 10 grandchildren: Debbie Dyer Sampson, Lori Dyer (James) Young, John (Connie) Dyer, Bob Dyer, Christine Dyer (Jon) Weaver, Aaron Leonard, Stephanie Roach, Christopher, Jen and Gregory Coolbaugh, 7 great-grandchildren: Courtney (Chad) Ebling, Colton Young, Emily, Jorja, Molly Dyer, Major, Trent Webster, and 3 great-great-grandchildren: Averie, Tristan and Claire Ebling. John P. Thompson, 88, of Kirkwood, entered into rest on Sunday, December 13, 2020 at Ware Presbyterian Village in Oxford. Born in West Chester, he was the son of the late Paul and Mary (Whiteside) Thompson. He was the loving husband of Anna M. (Weaver) Thompson for over 69 years. John was a 1950 graduate of Quarryville High School. He went on to farm and then retired from Agway after 25 years in milking services. John and his wife were also co-owners of the former D&J Campground in Kirkwood. He was a member of Union Presbyterian Church. John loved hunting and spending time with family and friends at the cabin in Tioga County. He was always willing to lend a hand to someone in need. John P. “Jack” Herr, 65, of New Providence, passed away on Saturday, December 12, 2020 at Lancaster General Hospital. He was the loving husband of the late Mary (Boyer) Herr, with whom he shared 15 years of marriage. Born in West Grove, he was the son of the late John P. Herr and Yvonne (Brown) Herr-Wood. Jack was a graduate of Oxford High School. In his early years he worked in manufacturing at NVF in Kennett Square. Most recently, Jack was employed as an assembler for CB Tool Company in Lancaster. Finding enjoyment in the outdoors, Jack was an avid fisherman and hunter. His favorite place was Potter County and he had wished to relocate there. He also enjoyed riding his motorcycle with his friends and going on poker runs. He was also known for having several pet snakes over the years. Arthur ‘Pop’ Edwards, 82 of Earleville, MD, passed away on December 7, 2020 at home, surrounded by his loving family. Pop was born on January 29, 1938 in West Chester, PA, son of the late Ralph and Ethel Murray Edwards. He was a U.S. Navy Veteran. He began his career with General Motors in the body shop, retiring after 25 years of service. He was a bus driver for Head Start and was known as Mr. Art. Pop also worked for the Town of Cecilton, mowing grass until his stroke. He was a foster parent to over 100 children over 15 year span and was Foster Parent of the Year twice. He enjoyed woodworking, mowing with his John Deere, watching old westerns especially John Wayne but his greatest joy was the time spent with his great-grandchildren. Ruth Arlene Zimmerman Hoffard of Strasburg, PA, loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great- grandmother, passed away at the age of 85 on Thursday, December 10, 2020 at Lancaster General Hospital. Ruth is survived by 3 children R. Jeffrey (Judy) Hoffard, Joseph (Sachi) Hoffard, Jack (Jeanne) Hoffard; 7 grandchildren, R. Nathan, Jennifer, Jessica, Kelly, Colin, Nikolai and Tatiana; ; 6 great grandchildren, Benjamin, Gwenyth, Micah, Lewis, Jacob, and Cole; and a foster sister Dolly Swift. Ruth was preceded in death by her husband of over 66 years, Gerald Lee “Rip” Hoffard; her parents, Roy and Mary A. Mitchell Zimmerman; a sister Dorothy Raub; and a great grandchild, Olivia. |
