Gary Thomas Grasty, 67, of Oxford, PA passed away on Thursday, November 9, 2023 at Union Hospital, Elkton, MD. He was the husband of Sharon Carey Grasty with whom he shared 40 years of marriage. Born in West Grove he was the son of the late Wilbur and Nellie Taylor Grasty. Gary retired from Herr Foods, Nottingham in June, 2023 after 48 years of service. He was also employed part-time at La Sicilia Pasta and Grill, Oxford. Gary enjoyed socializing around town and Wawa. He loved spending time with his family. He is survived by his wife; one son, Kyle Grasty and his wife, Bailee; one brother, William Grasty of Oxford; and two sisters, Patricia Hash of West Grove and Brenda Morrison of Kirkwood. Randy Keith Turner, Jr., age 34 of Holtwood, passed away on Saturday, November 11, 2023 as result of a vehicle accident. Born in Lancaster, he was the son of Randy K. Sr. and Michelle Danz Turner of Holtwood. He graduated from Penn Manor High School in 2008 and worked for Steve's Automotive Technology. In his free time, Randy loved camping, going to Fishing Creek, cooking, and spending time with his friends and family. Fred W. Crider, 91, formerly of Little Britain, entered into rest on Thursday, November 9, 2023, at the Mennonite Home. Born in Chambersburg, he was the son of the late John and Ethel (Hendershot) Crider. He was the loving husband of Evelyn B. Crider for over 65 years at the time of her passing in 2019. Fred was a veteran of the United States Army. He spent many years farming in Southern Lancaster County. He was an active member of Faith Reformed Presbyterian Church, Quarryville Lions Club, and Gideons International. Dolores Y. Barrett Spencer, 86, of Quarryville, entered into rest on Wednesday, November 8, 2023, at Newport Meadow Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Born in Philadelphia, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Elizabeth (Nardi) Pallone. She was the loving wife of James W. Spencer. Dolores was a Delaware County police officer for several years and was a member of Calvary Independent Baptist Church. She and Jim enjoyed vacationing in Branson, Missouri and traveling around the country, frequenting places known to play live country music. Barbara Tiley “Bunny” Blevins (nee Thomson nee Metz), 80, of Oxford, PA, passed away on Monday, November 6, 2023 at home with her family by her side.
She was the wife of the late David A. Blevins and her first husband, George Y. Thomson, Jr. Born in Philadelphia, PA she was the daughter of the late Robert T. and Miriam Townsend Warburton Metz. Bunny enjoyed old movies, traveling and spending time with her grandchildren. Nancy H. Ulrich, 90, of Peach Bottom, passed away peacefully on November 5, 2023, at the home of her daughter Diane Sheets. Nancy was born in Galax, Virginia in 1933 to Crocket and Lillie Mae Halsey. She worked in the banking industry for over 40 years. After retirement she continued working at Eldreth Pottery. To those that knew her, Nancy was small in stature and strong willed. Katie H. Stoltzfus, age 69, of 901 Smyrna Road, Kinzers, passed away on Monday, November 6, 2023 at home.
She was the wife of Elam S. Stoltzfus. Born in Gordonville, she was the daughter of Ammon K. King of Christiana and the late Sarah Huyard King. Katie was a member of the Old Order Amish Church. Douglas E. Pritchard, 53, of Strasburg Twp., went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, November 4, 2023, after an unexpected medical event, while riding his bike with friends, his favorite hobby. Born in Wooster, Ohio, he was the son of Donald E. and Margaret Ann (Franks) Pritchard. He was the loving husband of Christal (Jones) Pritchard for over 26 years. Doug was a pilot for Southwest Airlines for 21 years. He was a Class of 1993 graduate of the Air Force Academy and served in the Air Force for 21 years, with combat hours in the KC-135 and instructor hours in the T-37. Fred Hagerty, 84, of Lancaster, PA, passed away on November 4, 2023. He was born December 1, 1938 in East Palestine, Ohio. Fred was the beloved husband to Elvina Armer Hagerty and cherished father to Kathleen Nickey (Rob), Kristine Buss (Steve), and Karen Burkhart (Jim). He was a proud grandfather to seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Fred was preceded in death by his parents, seven sisters, and an infant daughter. He will be missed by many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Norma R. Toland, 87, of Quarryville, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday, November 3, 2023, at Quarryville Presbyterian Retirement Community. She is survived by her husband, Donald F. Toland, with whom she shared 64 years of marriage. Born in Camden, New Jersey, Norma was the daughter of the late Horace Jerome Richards and Kathryn Grace (Mills) Richards. In addition to her husband, she is survived by her daughters, Arlene Bauman (Dan), of Quarryville, and Laurel Lynn Petolicchio of West Virginia; grandchildren, Scott Bauman (Twila) of Annville, PA, Michael Bauman (Debby) of China, Louis Petolicchio (Sarah) of Pittsburgh, and David Petolicchio, of West Virginia. She is also survived by a brother, Warren Richards (Alice) of Charlotte, NC; a sister-in-law, Mary Ann Richards of New Jersey and seven great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her sister, Harriet Swauger; brother, Samuel Richards; and son-in-law, Louis Raymond Petolicchio. |
