Linda Lou Roberts, 78, of New Providence, passed away on Wednesday, July 14, 2021 at Lancaster General Hospital. Born in Chattanooga, TN, she was the daughter of the late Roy Roberts and the late Mildred (Cantrell) Noe. She was the companion of the late John W. Wagner, sharing 30 years together at the time of his passing in 2016. Linda was a graduate of Hempfield High School, class of 1961. Over the years she worked as a machine operator for HDJ and Bulova/L3, and most recently was employed by Darrenkamp’s Markets. Anne S. Gagliano, age 91, of Moravian Manor, Lititz, passed away on Wednesday, July 14, 2021. She was the wife of the late Joseph J. Gagliano, Sr., who died in 1978. Born in Baltimore, MD, she was the daughter of the late Oscar P and Flora K. Kurtz Stokes. Anne enjoyed an extensive career prior to marriage and children as a stewardess for ten years, based in New York City. There, beginning with Colonial Airlines in 1951 and later with Eastern Airlines, then Trans- Caribbean, and ultimately Seaboard and Western, she went on to travel the globe many times over. Theodore C. Asousa, Sr., 89, of Quarryville, PA and formerly of Broomall, PA died Friday, July 9, 2021 at Lancaster General Hospital. He was the husband of the late Beatrice G. Maust Asousa who died September 28, 2018. Born in Philadelphia, he was the son of the late Charles Theodore and Johara Salman Asousa. Ted studied electrical engineering at Drexel University. Using his engineering skills, he was self- employed as a manufacturer’s representative for multiple companies. He belonged to the Occupational Advisory Commitee for the Engineering and Robotics Program at the Technical College High School, Chester County Intermediate Unit. He was a member of Free and Accepted Masons, Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers, and Chestnut Level Presbyterian Church. A proud veteran, he served his country in the US Army Air Force. Shawn Michael Landis, 53, of Lancaster, passed away unexpectantly at home on July 4th 2021.
Born in Fort Dix, NJ, he was the son of the late Ken Landis and Kristin Conner Petrosky. Shawn had been employed by the US Postal Service as a mail handler for many years. He was a huge sports fan, enjoying watching every sport. He was a true, loyal Dallas Cowboys fan, excited to watch every game. He enjoyed the gardening outdoors, and yard work. He always looked forward to playing horseshoes, darts, and pool with his best friend Ian. He also enjoyed playing chess with his long time friend Love. He loved music, dancing, and always the life of the party. Most of all, he loved everyone - literally everyone - and would do anything for anyone. He had the biggest heart, bigger than the world. Sandra J. Byerly, 69, of Quarryville, entered into rest peacefully on Monday, July 5, 2021 at Hospice and Community Care.
Born in Wilmington, DE, she was the daughter of the late Edward S. and Jean E. (Dellinger) Marshall. She was married to the late Donald M. Byerly, Jr., who passed away in 2014. Sandy was known in the community for working the cash register at the former Ferguson and Hassler Supermarket, now Giant, over the last 24 years. G. Richard Wittlinger, Sr., 85, of West Lampeter Township, died at Lancaster General Hospital July 37/6/2021
G. Richard Wittlinger, Sr., 85, of West Lampeter Township, entered into rest on Saturday, July 3, 2021 at Lancaster General Hospital. Born in Lancaster, he was the son of the late John D. and M. Bernice (Perry) Wittlinger. He was the loving husband of Dorothy (Priest) Wittlinger for over 65 years. Most recently Richard had worked as a butcher for the former Strasburg Market Basket. He had been a 70-year member of Otterbein United Methodist Church and had recently become a member of Grace Community Church in Willow Street. As a hobby, he enjoyed making intricate wood working crafts. Donald L. McComsey, 89, of West Lampeter Township, entered into rest while surrounded by his family on Saturday, July 3, 2021 at UPMC Memorial Hospital in York. Born in Quarryville, he was the son of the late Harry and Martha (Helm) McComsey. He was the husband of the late Eleanor “Elly” (Magsamen) McComsey for 45 years at the time of her passing in 2017. Donald was a proud veteran of the U.S. Army, having served in the Korean Conflict. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and playing cards. Donald is survived by 4 sons: Mark (Wendy) of Quarryville; David of Marietta; Dale (Judy) of Birdsboro; Dean (Barb) of Refton; 5 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. Nelson G. Rohrer, 94, of Quarryville, PA, passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, July 3, 2021. Born in Lancaster, PA, he was the son of the late Clayton M. and Elsie J. [Gehman] Rohrer. He is survived by B. Pauline [Lefever] Rohrer, his wife of 67 years.
Nelson faithfully served in the ministry for 45 years, and was a member of the Bethel Mennonite church. In addition to his wife, he is he is survived by sixteen children: Leon, husband of Mary Louise [Weaver], of Quarryville; Laura Jean, wife of Daniel Ogburn, of Gettysburg; Melvin, husband of Beulah [Weaver], of Millville; Mervin, husband of Julia [Herr], of Aaronsburg; Sharon, wife of Jerome Rhoads, of Quarryville; Eunice, wife of Daniel Yoder, of Leburn, KY; Ronald, husband of Sherri [Weaver], of New Holland; Velma, wife of Daniel Steinhauer, of Clayton, DE; Grace, wife of Moses Eberly, of Warrensburg, MO; Leslie, husband of Faith [Miller], of Dittmer, MO; Janet, wife of Kervin Gehman, of Warrensburg, MO; David, husband of Karen [Groff], of Mt. Pleasant; Lois Ann, wife of James Miller, of Louisburg, NC; Robert, husband of Mary Jane [Reiff], of Millmont; Joyce, wife of Carey Snyder, of Waymart; and Alvin, husband of Debra [Steinhauer], of Quarryville; Three sisters, Marie, of Lititz, PA; Martha Ramer, of New Paris, IN; Elsie Lehman, of Lititz,PA; A sister-in-law, Ada, of Lancaster, PA; 118 grandchildren, and 185 great grandchildren. Jacob J. Fisher, age 78 of 142 Hess Road, Quarryville, passed away on Saturday, July 3rd, 2021.

John D. Trimble, Sr. age 62, of Pequea, died at Hospice and Community Care, Mt. Joy, PA on July 2, 2021. Born in Quarryville, he was the son of Benjamin F. and Eleanor E. Reich Trimble, Sr. John had been employed as a tow motor operator for Buck Iron, followed by Asplundh, Joe King, and Bensit Tile. He is survived by his companion Kay Kreiner; 4 sons, James Kelley of Strasburg, John (Debra) Trimble, Jr. of Manheim, Joshua (Rachel) Trimble of Quarryville, Cody (Cassidy) Trimble of Holtwood; a step daughter Melissa Meckley of Strasburg; 12 grandchildren; 3 brothers, Benjamin Trimble, Jr, Willis Trimble, Robert Trimble; 2 aunts; 1 uncle; and several nieces and nephews. |
