RuthAnn Carter, age 79 of Willow Street, passed away on Tuesday, July 20, 2021 at her home. She was the wife of the late Orion E. Carter with whom she celebrated 50 years of marriage. She was born in Macungie, daughter of the late Kenneth and Edna Seip Weil. RuthAnn graduated from the Pennsylvania School for the Deaf in 1962. In her free time, she loved cross stitching, doing crossword and jigsaw puzzles, and watching hummingbirds. She was a longtime member of the Lancaster Association of the Deaf and the Keystone Deaf Senior Citizens. Sandra L. Fisher, age 78, formerly of Lancaster, passed away on Monday, July 19, 2021 at Ephrata Manor. Born in Lancaster, she was the daughter of the late Willard F. Harkcom and Violet “Bunny” Tsudy Harkcom Fish. Sandra was a graduate of Penn Manor. After high school, she worked for RCA then later Berk-Tek before retiring. She enjoyed basket weaving, antiques, watching TV, and was a Denver Broncos fan. Ronald Z. Zimmerman, 51, of New Providence, went home to be with the Lord on Monday evening, July 19, 2021 at his home.
Born in East Earl, he was the son of David S. and Martha (Zimmerman) Zimmerman. He was the loving husband of Diane (Steinhauer) Zimmerman for 30 years. Ronald had worked as a service tech and later in the office at Martin Appliances. Faith became sight for Craig James Dawson Robertson, 51, when he passed away on Saturday, July 17, 2021 after a courageous battle with Glioblastoma. He was the beloved husband of Alisa M. (Weaver) Robertson, with whom he shared 25 years of marriage. Born in Harrisburg, he was the son of James W. and Sylvia M. (Finlay) Robertson, of Akron. Craig was a graduate of Manheim Central High School, class of 1987. He then attended LeTourneau University, earning a bachelor’s degree in accounting and aviation. Craig was employed by Robertson Insurance & Risk Management as a Vice President and Risk Manager. Prior to this position he was employed by Durex Coverings. Howard “Howie” Bare, 60, passed away on Friday, July 16, 2021. He was the husband of Denise Hensley with whom he shared 40 years of marriage. Born in West Grove, he was the son of the late Woodrow, Sr. and Leiliah Fisher Bare. Howard was self-employed as a mechanic. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, street rods and working on cars. He loved riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle and spending time with his grandchildren. He is survived by his wife; one son, Justin Bare of Coatesville; three grandchildren, Isaiah Wayne Hensley, Olivia Jordan Hensley and Ryder Wayne Bare; two brothers, Charles Bare of Peach Bottom and Randy Hensley; three sisters, Debbie Riley of Peach Bottom, Dianne Gwynn of Hollywood and Dreama Duncan of Little Britain. Robert A. Giberson Jr., 82, of Willow Street, passed from this life to meet his savior on Sunday, July 18, 2021. Born on July 13, 1939 in Montour County, PA, he was the son of the late Robert A. Giberson Sr. and Frances May (Engroff) Giberson. He was the husband of Arlene Hursh (Shaub) Giberson. They were married on November 20, 1959. Bob attained his education in the Lampeter-Strasburg school district until the tenth grade. He learned the plumbing and heating trade in his father and uncle’s business, Giberson Brothers Plumbing and Heating in Lancaster. Upon their retirement, the business was dissolved and Bob worked for various companies in that trade until 1964, when he joined Plumbers and Pipefitters Union Local 341 located on Union Street in Lancaster. Local 341 merged with Local 520 of Harrisburg and he continued with that organization until he retired in 1997. While at the trade, Bob worked on many schools and businesses in the county and at most of the power plants in this area, including TMI and Peach Bottom Atomic Power Plant, as well as many locations elsewhere. Gunnar Paxson Nicodemus, 16, of Conestoga, passed away unexpectedly of natural causes while vacationing with friends in North Carolina on Thursday, July 15, 2021. Born in Philadelphia, he was the son of Laura Stambaugh and the late Adam Nicodemus. Gunnar was a student at Marticville Middle School. He enjoyed life to the fullest. He loved watching movies, riding roller coasters and taking trips to the beach. Alice C. Albright, age 89, passed away on Friday July 16, 2021 at ManorCare, Lancaster. She was the wife of the late George Washington Albright who died in 1995. Born in Lancaster, she was the daughter of the late Howard and Catherine Hohenwarter Kaylor. She was a member of St Catherine of Siena for a number of years before worshiping at St. Joseph’s in Lancaster. She returned to St Catherine’s in her later years. Alice was the first woman office manager at Pullman Trailmobile. She loved dogs especially Jack Russells. Harold L. Ryder, Sr., age 80 of Quarryville, passed away on Thursday, July 15, 2021 at his home. He was the husband of the late Janice Lewis Ryder who passed away on January 18, 2016. Born in Millpoint, WV, he was the son of the late Theodore and Opal Fowler Ryder. Harold was a great story teller and in his free time he loved hunting, fishing, playing the guitar and banjo, and spending time with his family. Cindy Swartley Mast, age 61, of Willow Street, passed away at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania of subarachnoid hemorrhage on Thursday, July 15, 2021. She was the wife of Dr. Daniel D. Mast with whom she celebrated 39 years of marriage on June 6th. She was born in Sellersville, PA, daughter of the late Vernon M. & Dorothy Detweiler Swartley. She was a member of the James Street Mennonite Church of Lancaster, where she was on the Oversight Board. She supported education, public and faith based , serving on Lancaster Mennonite School board for 17 years. She graduated from Eastern Mennonite College in 1981 with a BSN and the University of Pennsylvania in 1987 with a MSN in Community Health Nursing. In the past, Cindy taught Community Health Nursing at University of Pennsylvania, East Stroudsburg University, and Arizona State University. Most recently she was a case manager for Penn Medicine/LGH in Care Connections , facilitating complex care for individuals. |
