Sarah L. Fisher, age 88 of 233 Cooks Landing Road, Peach Bottom, passed away on Friday, June 5, 2020, at the home of her son.
She was the wife of the late Jacob E. Fisher. Born in Lancaster County, she was the daughter of the late Isaac E. and Sarah Lapp Stoltzfus. Sarah was a member of the Old Order Amish Church. She is survived by 2 children: Naomi S. wife of Emanuel Girod of NY, and Christ S. husband of Lydia Ebersol Fisher of Peach Bottom, 12 grandchildren, 64 great-grandchildren, 6 step great-grandchildren, and 2 brothers: Jacob L. Stoltzfus of WI, and Henry L. Stoltzfus of KY. Samuel M. Overly, age 75 of New Providence, passed away on Saturday, June 6, 2020 at Hospice and Community Care of Mount Joy. Born in Wakefield, he was the son of the late Henry S. and Flora Roland Overly. Samuel honorably served in the Army and later worked for Armstrong World Industries. In his free time, he loved spending time with his grandson. He is survived by 2 children: Katie L. Overly of Willow Street and Steven D. husband of Megan Adams Overly of Willow Street, 2 grandsons, Bryce and Bennett, and a sister, Twileen Osborne of New Providence. Betty Jane Booth, 75, of Quarryville, beloved wife, mother and “Mimi” went home to be with her Lord on Thursday, June 4, 2020 at her home. Born in Lancaster, she was the daughter of the late Vance and Naomi (Gore) Richardson. She was the loving wife of Steven M. Booth for over 56 years. Betty was a 1963 graduate of Solanco High School. She then worked as a beautician for several years. Betty was an active member of Calvary Independent Baptist Church and had volunteered at New Hope Community Closet. She enjoyed flower gardening, baking cookies, spending time with her grandchildren and taking family trips to the beach in Avalon, New Jersey. In addition to her husband, Betty is survived by her children, Mark Steven Booth of Quarryville and Kimberly Michelle Booth-Ashley of New Providence. Also surviving are grandchildren, Kaitlyn “Katie”, wife of Eric McMahon, Dylan Michael Ashley, and Kelsey Elizabeth Harnish; three siblings: Evelyn, wife of Kenneth Probst, Frank “Sonny”, husband of Suzanne Richardson and Karen Gallagher and many nieces and nephews. Ira L. Kepner, Jr., age 80, of New Providence, passed away at the Lancaster General Hospital on Monday, June 1, 2020. He was the husband of Linda J. Groff Kepner, with whom he celebrated 38 years of marriage on May 21st. He was born in Ironville, PA, son of the late Ira L. Sr. and Emma Broich Kepner. He worked for Armstrong World Industries retiring in 1995. He graduated from Hempfield High School. Ira served in the Army during the Korean Conflict. He enjoyed woodworking, being outdoors working in his yard and traveling. Annie K. Zook, age 82, of 5540 White Oak Road, Paradise, passed away at home on June 2, 2020.
She was the wife of Jacob M. Zook. She was born in Witmer, daughter of the late Christ S. and Sarah King Miller. She was member of the Old Order Amish Church. Levi L. Fisher, age 66, of 423 Maple Shade Road, Kirkwood, passed away on Tuesday, June 2, 2020.
He is the husband of Mattie Lapp Stoltzfus Lapp Fisher and the late Sarah Beiler Fisher. He was born in Gordonville, son of the late Jonas K. and Lydia Lapp Fisher. He was a member of the Old Order Amish Church. Pastor Gary L. Witham, born in Derry, NH on Nov. 5, 1947, passed away at his home In Strasburg, PA on Friday, May 29, 2020.
His wife, Gloria, and several family members were with him when he died. Gary and Gloria celebrated their 30th anniversary on Jan. 20, 2020. He was the son of Pastor Calvin G. & Clara Witham. Gary and his wife attended Calvary Monument Bible Church. Barbara M. Wiley, 77, of Oxford, PA passed away Friday, May 29, 2020 in Penn Hospice, West Chester.
She was the wife of the late Harry Wiley, Jr. Born in Allentown she was the daughter of the late Lawrence and Catherine Skvoretz Kuhns. Barbara was retired from H.J. Heinz Co., West Chester. She enjoyed riding horses, playing BINGO with friends, and spending time with her family especially her grandchildren. Lawrence Lee Rice, 67, of Oxford, PA, passed away on Wednesday, May 27, 2020 at home. Born in Havre de Grace, MD, he was the son of the late Lester Grover and Viola Clare McFadden Rice. Lawrence was employed as a truck driver with Manfredi Mushrooms and Basciani Mushrooms in Toughkenamon, PA. He was a handyman and enjoyed the outdoors and yard work. He is survived by his lifelong companion of 40 years, Ruth Horne; one daughter, Carrie Rice Sentz of MD; four step-daughters, Kathy Reburn (Saul) of Oxford, Carrie Stokes (Terrance) of Oxford, Susan Townsend (Ed) of Wilmington, DE and Kim Horne (Alfredo) of West Grove; two step-sons, Kenny Horne of Lancaster and Jeff Horne (Becky) of Tifton, GA; and many grandchildren and great grandchildren. Clinton H. Hawkins, age 86, of Gap, passed away on Thursday, May 28, 2020. Born in Philadelphia, he was the son of the late Clinton and Edna Styer Hawkins. He proudly served his country as a marine during the Korean Conflict. In the past he worked at Luria Brothers of Coatesville and Lapp Lumber in Paradise. He was a member of the Christiana American Legion and Gap VFW. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, his military buddies and his dog Coco. He had a generous heart and sponsored international children through various ministries. |
