There were no injuries when a car and a minivan collided on Beaver Valley Pike (Rt. 222) at Eagle Dr., Providence Township, at 10:04 p.m. on October 24, Trooper Nicholas Cortese reported. According to the trooper, Raul Rojas-Alvarez, 36, of New Providence, was driving south and tried to turn left onto Eagle Dr. His minivan collided with a car being driven north on Rt. 222 by Jessica L. COLLISION - Betty L. Pinto, 67, of Toms River, N.J., was hurt in a scooter accident in front of 1887 Noble Rd. on October 20, Trooper Kendra Kaley reported. According to the trooper, Pinto was riding north when she failed to make a curve in the road, ran off the highway, and hit a mailbox. Pinto was taken to Lancaster General Hospital for treatment and was cited for the collision, the trooper said. EAST DRUMORE TOWNSHIP DRUGS - Two 16-year-old boys, one from Kirkwood and the other from Nottingham, were charged with drug law violations after school personnel found the boys with marijuana at Solanco High School at 2 p.m. on October 22, Trooper Elisha Bomberger reported. EDEN TOWNSHIP COLLISION - One driver was hurt when a Hyundai Accent and a tractor trailer collided at the intersection of Dry Wells Rd. and Kirkwood Pike (Rt. 472) at 4:28 p.m. on October 23, Trooper Chad M. Dohner reported. According to the trooper, Courtney L. Gondek, 32, of Quarryville, was driving east on Dry Wells Rd., stopped at the intersection, and pulled out into the path of a southbound tractor trailer driven by Jared S. Horst, 21, of Quarryville. Gondek was slightly injured in the collision and refused treatment at the scene. Her two young passengers were not hurt; Horst also escaped injury. Gondek was cited for the collision and her car was towed from the scene. FULTON TOWNSHIP COLLISION - There were no injuries in a collision at the intersection of Robert Fulton Highway (Rt. 222) and Little Britain Rd. South, Trooper Joseph Guza reported. According to the trooper, Michael J. Fronczek, 66, of Mount Joy, was driving a Jeep Grand Cherokee north when his SUV failed to make a curve in the road, slid onto a gravel parking area, spun around, hit a utility pole, and collided with a Ford minivan. Fronczek was cited for the collision, the trooper said. MARTIC TOWNSHIP ATTEMPTED HOMICIDE - Daniel Grant Werner, 25, of Columbia, has been charged with trying to kill a 38-year-old woman at 673 Drytown Rd. on the night of October 18, Trooper First Class Shawn M. Swarr reported. According to the trooper, Werner forced the victim to take a large quantity of Viacodin, intending to kill her. Once the woman was under the influence of the pills, Werner allegedly had sex with her without her consent. Werner was charged with attempted homicide, rape, terroristic threats, unlawful restraint, and assault. He was arraigned and committed to Lancaster County Prison. BURGLARY - Someone stole items from the house and garage at 41 Den Mar Dr. sometime before October 24, Trooper Bertrum A. James reported. The thief also made off with items from motor vehicles parked at that home, the trooper said. PARADISE TOWNSHIP FLEEING - Ryan Matthew Renshaw, 35, of Paradise, is facing numerous charges after he allegedly fled from a traffic stop on S. Belmont Rd. at 1:25 a.m. on October 13, Trooper Nicholas D. Long reported. According to the trooper, police tried to stop Renshaw, who ignored the cruiser's flashing lights and siren. Renshaw allegedly drove down a lane until blocked by a tree. He then ran from his vehicle, only to be found hiding in a wooded area. Renshaw was charged with fleeing and eluding while driving under the influence, driving under the influence, and numerous summary violations, the trooper said. PROVIDENCE TOWNSHIP RESISTING - Chase M. Thomas, 19, of Solar Dr., was charged with flight to avoid prosecution and resisting arrest after he hid from police who were trying to arrest him on a burglary warrant, Trooper Philip G. Strosser reported. According to the trooper, police went to Thomas's home at 1 p.m. on October 17 to serve the felony warrant. Thomas hid in his bedroom closet; when discovered, he resisted arrest. Thomas was arraigned before Magisterial District Judge Stuart Mylin on the burglary charge and committed to Lancaster County Prison in lieu of $50,000 bail. On October 21, Thomas was charged with resisting arrest and flight. COLLISION - One person was hurt when two Chevrolet Cavaliers collide at the intersection of Truce Rd. and Echo Valley Dr. at 9:30 p.m. on October 23, Trooper Joseph Guza reported. Kassy L. Keener, 23, of Lancaster, stopped on Echo Valley Dr. and pulled into the intersection and into the path of a car driven by Lorenza C. Fryberger, Jr., 22, of New Providence. Keener was slightly injured in the collision and taken to Lancaster General Hospital for treatment. She was also cited for the collision, the trooper said. COLLISION - One driver was hurt when two cars collided on Beaver Valley Pike (Rt. 222) at Camargo Rd. at 6:56 a.m. on October 16, Trooper Sean Waters reported. According to the trooper, Daniella B. Schmitt, 20, of New Providence, was driving south on Rt. 222 and turned left at Camargo Rd. Her car collided with one being driven north on Rt. 222 by Rachel E. Besancon, 22, of Quarryville. Besancon was hurt in the collision and taken to Lancaster General Hospital for treatment. Schmitt, who was not injured, was cited for the collision, the trooper said. ASSAULT - Mark Miller, 27, of New Providence, was charged with assault and harassment following an incident at 537 Holly Dr. at 9:30 p.m. on October 25, Trooper James Fassnacht reported.
