A man who called state police to report a burglary was charged with possession of marijuana, Trooper Philip Strosser reported. According to the trooper, Leroy Buzzard III, 36, of 345 May Post Office Rd., Strasburg Township, called police at 9:15 a.m. on November 21 and reported hearing someone in the attic of his home. Buzzard also told troopers he had seen someone looking out of the attic gable vent. Police could find no sign of forced entry and nothing was taken, Trooper Strosser reported.
They did, however, find a small amount of marijuana and Buzzard was charged with possession of the drug, Trooper Strosser reported. State police also reported the following incidents in the Southern End: BART TOWNSHIP COLLISION - There were no injuries in a one-car collision on Noble Rd. at Bell Rd. at 8 a.m. on November 17, Trooper Joseph Guza reported. According to the trooper, Donald E. Roeder, 26, of Oxford, was driving east on Noble Rd. when he swerved to avoid a deer in the road. Roeder then lost control of his 2013 Volkswagen, which hit an embankment. Roeder was charged with driving too fast for conditions. DRUMORE TOWNSHIP THEFT - A white man took electrical wire from Holtwood Supply, 1010 Susquehannock Dr. at 1:50 p.m. on November 21 and left without paying, Trooper Elisha Bomberger reported. On the following day, the man returned and tried to steal more wire but was confronted. The man is between 20 and 30 years old, the trooper said. Anyone with information about the theft should call state police at 299-7650. DUI - Michael David Rineer, 56, of Peach Bottom, was charged with driving under the influence after state police stopped his vehicle at the intersection of Susquehannock Dr. and Rank Ave. at 1:49 a.m. on November 24, Trooper Jared Fluck reported. FRAUD - Someone used a Rivervue North Rd. resident's access device card to take money from the account, Trooper Kendra R. Kaley reported. The incidents occurred between September 30 and October 17, the trooper said. EAST DRUMORE TOWNSHIP POSSESSION - A 16-year-old boy from New Providence was charged with possession of marijuana after Solanco High School officials found him with the drug while at school at 11:49 a.m. on November 21, Trooper Ryan L. Lawrence reported. POSSESSION - A 16-year-old girl from New Providence was charged with possession of marijuana after Solanco High School officials found her with the drug at 2:20 p.m. on November 19, Trooper Ryan L. Lawrence reported. BURGLARY - Someone broke through the rear door of the house 494 Center Rd. between 9 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. on November 21, Trooper Ryan L. Lawrence reported. Once inside, the burglar took jewelry before fleeing, possibly in a small white sedan, the trooper said. Anyone with information about the incident should call state police at 299-7650. HARASSMENT - Gary Wayne Rehm, 19, Laurel Dr., was charged with harassment after he allegedly slapped a woman during an incident at that address at 7:08 p.m. on November 23, Trooper Kendra Kaley reported. EDEN TOWNSHIP COLLISION - There were no injuries in a one-car collision in front of 120 Mount Pleasant Rd. at 10:46 a.m. on November 24, Trooper Kendra Kaley reported. According to the trooper, a 17-year-old girl from Bird-in-Hand was driving south when her car failed to make a curve, hit an embankment, and then struck a utility pole. The driver was cited for the collision. FULTON TOWNSHIP ASSAULT - A 16-year-old girl from Peach Bottom has been charged with assault following an incident on a school bus en route to Solanco High School, Trooper Andrew Manning reported. According to the trooper, the suspect punched a 15-year-old numerous times, giving the victim a bloody nose. The incident occurred at 7 a.m. on November 13 while the bus was near the intersection of Peters Creek Rd. and Peach Bottom Rd., the trooper said. LITTLE BRITAIN TOWNSHIP DUI - Bradley Nathaniel Camerote, 20, of Parkesburg, was charged with driving under the influence after his car hit a deer in front of 305 Nottingham Rd. at 5:03 a.m. on November 17, Trooper Cody S. Clark reported. MARTIC TOWNSHIP BURGLARY - Someone got into the house at 103 Drytown Rd. between 8 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. on November 19 and made off with numerous pieces of jewelry and a bed comforter, Trooper Kaley reported. PROVIDENCE TOWNSHIP DISORDERLY - Jason M. Flagg, 24, and Shala D. Conover, 22, both of New Providence, were charged with disorderly conduct after state police responded to reports of a disturbance at 2379 Old Rd. on November 17, Trooper First Class Kelly Osborne-Filson reported. COLLISION - One person was hurt when two vehicles collided on Lancaster Pike (Rt. 272) at Schoolhouse Rd. at 6:10 p.m. on November 22, Trooper Elisha Bomberger reported. According to the trooper, Abigail M. Nussbaum, 19, of Leola, was driving south on Rt. 272 and slowed to make a left turn onto Schoolhouse Rd. The brake lights on Nussbaum's Ford Explorer didn't work, and a second southbound vehicle, driven by Melanio Ramos, 62, of Lancaster, ran into the rear of Nussbaum's SUV. Ramos didn't realize Nussbaum was slowing, the trooper said, and when Ramos tried to stop, her car slid on the wet roadway. A passenger in Ramos's vehicle, Elaine R. Ramos, 56, was taken to Lancaster General Hospital for treatment. Nussbaum was cited for a brake light violation, the trooper said. SADSBURY TOWNSHIP POSSESSION - Curtis Todd Williams, 30, of Christiana, was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia following an incident at Rt. 372 and White Oak Rd. at 12:45 a.m. on November 22, Trooper Nicholas D. Long reported. According to the trooper, police went to 345 Christiana Pike to find Williams, who was wanted on a probation violation warrant. When Trooper Jon Smith went to the front door, Williams ran out the back. He was caught following a short foot chase and taken into custody. That's when he was also charged with possession of drug paraphernalia, Trooper Long said. STRASBURG TOWNSHIP COLLISION - Adam F. Winski, 19, of Gap, was hurt when the Jeep he was driving hit a horse standing in the highway in front of 5558 Strasburg Rd. at 5:37 a.m. on November 19, Trooper Cody S. Clark reported. According to the trooper, Winski was driving east when his SUV hit the horse. The Jeep then spun around, hit a utility pole and snapped it off. The Jeep then rolled over and landed on its wheels on a fence. The trooper did not say what happened to the horse. CHARGES - Abigail Lynn Weaver, 25, of Quarryville, is facing numerous charges following an incident and a collision on Rt. 222 at Bunker Hill Rd. at 1:58 a.m. on November 17, Trooper Aaron Davis reported. According to the trooper, Weaver got into an argument with a 25-year-old woman and then took the woman's 2013 Mazda. Weaver allegedly backed the vehicle from the driveway, backed up Rt. 222, crossed the center of the road, and ran the vehicle up an embankment. The Mazda was removed by a towing service and Weaver was charged with simple assault and driving under the influence. Comments are closed.
