Bo Manor captures their first win of the season after a opening season slump. The Eagles defeated visiting North East 11-10, on Tuesday, April 11. Bo Manor took the lead early on, with a score of seven while holding the Indians to three by the end of the first period. North East made comeback at the start of the second period, after scoring three goals. Kiley Day scored an additional goal to tie up the game (7-7). "I challenged them, we were down by four and I said to them, you have a choice here, you either can give up or do something and they did. They made something happen," said North East head coach Joe Burkhardt. "I am proud of the girls for not giving up." "My mentality was that it was tied the whole entire game, and to just go hard and keep on going, and I think that is what the girls were doing too. We just kept on coming back and I think every time we let up we took that frustration and put it toward that goal," said center, Hayleigh Soukup. The Eagles fired back and pulled ahead of the Indians with goals from Haley Criddle and Soukup. With only three minutes left in the game the Indians made a final effort with a goal from Haley Kennedy to tie it up once again 10-10. However, with in the final seconds of the game, The Eagles' Soukup slipped in a goal to edge out the Indians by one. "It's been a while since we won a game, so it just feels good (to win) and I think this is going to give us the confidence we need to get us through the rest of the season," said Soukup.
