Wilbur W. Bucher, “Bill”, 93, of Lancaster, passed away Thursday night, May 23, 2019, at the Mennonite Home. Bill was the son of the late Reverend Rufus P. and Naomi (White) Bucher of Mechanic Grove. He is survived by his wife Annette (Wagaman) Bucher whom he married in June of 1948. Bill graduated from Elizabethtown College in 1950. He served in the Navy in the Pacific during World War II and later during the Korean Conflict. Retiring after 34 years with RCA, he went on to work for the Pennsylvania Dutch Visitors Bureau. Bill was an avid fisherman, boater and golfer. He was a member of the Lancaster Church of the Brethren and the Masonic Lodge.
Also surviving are daughter Jeannette Malinzak (David) of North Carolina, grandsons Michael Malinzak (Elizabeth) of North Carolina and Sean Bucher of Louisiana, great-grandchildren Patrick and Annette Malinzak of North Carolina, daughter-in-law Deborah Bucher of Louisiana and numerous nieces and nephews. Bill was pre-deceased by an infant daughter Debra and son Barry Bucher, along with four brothers and five sisters. Services will be held at the Lancaster Church of the Brethren Chapel on Saturday, June 8th at 10:00 a.m. with the Reverend Calvin Wenger officiating. Visitation will begin at 9:00. Private interment following the service. Bill was a gentle soul with a quick smile and a wry sense of humor.
