Virginia Ehlers of Kirkwood died at home on Thursday, March 20, 2014. She was 86. Mrs. Ehlers was born in Annapolis, Md., a daughter of the late Albert C. and Olga Elizabeth Malone Davidson. She was raised in Harbeson, Delaware, and attended schools in Georgetown, Del. She lived in Delaware and West Chester before moving to Kirkwood. Mrs. Ehlers worked for the Chester County Head Start program, Simplex Time Recorder Company, West Chester, and the Sea Horse Restaurant in Rehoboth Beach, Del. She also worked as medical transcriptionist in Lewes, Del. She was a member of the Oxford United Methodist Church.
Mrs. Ehlers is survived by three sons, Eric, husband of Sharon Ehlers of The Villages, Fla., Craig, husband of Jackie Ehlers of Pacific Palisades, Calif., and Kent Ehlers of Quarryville; her daughter, Lisa, wife of Joseph Campbell of Kirkwood; eight grandchildren, Eric Justin Ehlers, Amanda Smolinski, Jeffrey Ehlers, Parker Ehlers, Mark Campbell, Jessica Ehlers, Ryan Ehlers, and Mallory Ehlers; four great-grandchildren; her sister, Joan Lewis of Middletown, Del.; her niece, Beth Robinson of Middletown; and her nephew, Adam Weber of Middletown. A memorial service will be held from Oxford United Methodist Church, 18 Addison St., Oxford, at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, March 26. Burial with graveside services will be at Beaverdam Cemetery, Harbeson, Del., at 1 p.m. on Thursday, March 27.
