Thomas J. Barrett, Sr., 89 of Lancaster Pike Quarryville, died at his residence on Friday, May 20, 2016. He was the husband of the late Marie C. McEntee Barrett who died April 3, 2010. Tom was born in Philadelphia, a son of the late Charles L. and Mary C. Frees Barrett. Tom had been employed by Masland Duran Company in Philadelphia for 33 years. He was a member of St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church, Quarryville, PA. Tom served his country proudly in the US Navy, as a Seaman First Class during WWII and was a member of the American Legion. He enjoyed watching TV and most importantly loved his family, especially traveling with his grandchildren. Surviving him are 5 children, Mary Ann Eckenrode, Thomas J. Barrett, Jr., Lawrence Barrett, Kevin Barrett, Brian Barrett; grandchildren, Vena, Christy, Kelly, Ivan, Bridget, Colleen, T.J. III; great grandchildren, Monica, Chasity, Amanda, Justin, Chandler, Courtney, Jordan, Grace, Aiden, Kayden, Kaylee; and great-great grandchildren, Rylee and Peyton.
He was preceded in death by 3 brothers, Lawrence, Frederick, Charles; and 5 sisters, Emma, Anna Mae, Catherine, Agnes, and Mary. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, May 27, 2016 at 12:00 Noon at St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church, 955 Robert Fulton Highway, Quarryville, PA with Rev. Mark Speitel as celebrant. Final Commendation and Farewell will follow in St. Catherine’s Catholic Cemetery. A viewing will be held at Reynolds Funeral & Cremation Services, Inc. 144 East State Street, Quarryville, PA on Friday from 9:00 – 11:30AM. Kindly omit flowers.
