Steven P. Hess, 66, of Quarryville, entered into rest after a courageous battle with Leukemia on Sunday, March 29, 2015. Born in Peach Bottom, he was the son of the late Paul and Florence (Waltman) Hess. Steve retired from PP&L with over 44 years of service. He was an outdoorsman and had several interests, but none bigger than his love of hunting, both locally and around the world along with trapping and fishing. He was a national ranked handgun competitor, and served as a deputy with the Pennsylvania Game Commission. Steve also was a volunteer for the Willow Street Ambulance Association, a life member of the NRA and a member of Ascension Lutheran Church. He is survived by his wife, Dusty, a daughter, Lisa D., wife of Brian Kramp of Lancaster, a son Eric P. Hess, husband of Charleen of N. Idaho along with a stepson Tommy and a stepdaughter Jane. Also surviving are grandchildren Gregory, Jared, Megan, Peyton and Hudson along with step grandchildren Joviana and Wesley, sisters, Lorraine, wife of Gordon Herr and Betty, wife of Richard Conrad and several nieces and nephews. Steve will be missed by his four-legged friend, Dove.
Services celebrating Steve’s life will be on Thursday, April 2, 2015 at 10:30 a.m. from Ascension Lutheran Church, 600 Penn Grant Rd., Willow Street, PA. Friends are invited to greet the family at the church immediately following the services.
