Ross C. “Junie” Ulrich, 87, formerly of Peach Bottom, entered into rest on Monday, July 27, 2015 at Conestoga View where he had been residing for the past 7 months. Born in Wakefield, PA on September 14, 1927, he was the son of the late Ross C. and Lula (Shoemaker) Ulrich. He was raised by his stepmother, Alva (Gardner) Ulrich. Ross lived in Southern Lancaster County his entire life. He worked at the family feed business until 1964, then was employed by the Chester Water Authority as an operator and lab technician until his retirement in 1992. Ross was instrumental in forming and was also the first secretary of the Robert Fulton Fire Company. He was a charter member and secretary/treasurer of the Wakefield Lions Club for 25 years. Ross volunteered many years for Meals-on-Wheels. Ross is survived by his wife Nancy (Halsey) Ulrich; daughters, Carolyn (Parley) Hess and Diane Sheets. Along with dearly loved grandsons: Robert (Alison) Hess, Alex (Jamie) Hess and great-grandchildren: Ava, Addison, Morgan and Brayden Hess. Ross was preceded in death by his sister, Ruth Bucher; brothers, Robert and Harry Ulrich and a son-in-law, Raymond V. Sheets. The family wishes to thank the entire 5th floor staff at Conestoga View for the compassionate care given to Ross during his stay.
A visitation for the extended family will be held at Dewald Funeral and Cremation Services, 227 W. 4th St. Quarryville, PA on Friday, July 31, 2015 from 10-11:00 a.m. Interment will follow in the Little Britain Presbyterian Cemetery.
