Robah G. Hess, 92, of New Providence, entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, November 6, 2024, at his home after a brief illness. Born in Lancaster, he was the son of the late Warren and Bessie M. (Erb) Hess. He was the loving husband of the late Verna Kay (Kline) Hess. Robah served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He was a long-time local chicken farmer and an active, life-long member of the former St. Paul’s Church in Quarryville. He was an Eagle Scout and an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing, bee-keeping and camping. Robah was also a 64-year member of the Solanco Fair Assoc. Robah is survived by his children: Patrice Eberly Miller (Randy) of New Providence; Melissa Hokkanen (Glenn) of Fogelsville; Elizabeth Barrett (Gary) of Christiana; and Robah W. Hess of Lancaster. Also surviving are 3 grandsons, a granddaughter and multiple step grandchildren and great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his oldest daughter, Vickie K. Hess and 3 sisters. A Memorial Service will take place at Oak Hill Fellowship Church, 1 W. 4th St., Quarryville, PA 17566 on Friday, November 15, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. The family will greet friends at the church from 1-2 p.m. Interment with military honors will follow the service in the Quarryville Cemetery.
