Matthew S. “Matt” LemMon, of Quarryville, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Wednesday, October 11, 2017, his 50th birthday. He was the beloved husband of Angela (Miles) LemMon, sharing 29 years of marriage together. Born in Pontiac, MI, he was the son of Sandra L. (Nitchman) LemMon-Guigear, of Metamora, MI, and the late Raymond C.V. LemMon. After graduating high school, Matt went on to find employment in the transportation industry as a truck driver, first working for J.D. Eckman, Inc., and then in his own business of moving furniture and transporting the Amish. He had also worked for Landis Transmission and with his wife in the business they owned, All Notary & Tag Service. In his spare time, Matt loved riding 4 wheelers, having owned many over the years. He had a great sense of humor and was the life of the party, giving everyone a good laugh. Matt had many friends, and he enjoyed stopping by to visit them at their homes. To those that knew Matt, he was an extremely generous person, willing to give to those in need. He loved Jesus, and enjoyed spending time with his church family. Matt also loved to listen to his wife play the piano or any instrument. He was a very playful and fun dad to his children and grandchildren. Life was always an adventure with Matt… there was never a dull moment. In addition to his wife and mother, Matt is survived by his daughters, Cassandra (Troy) Towner, of Quarryville, and Jessica (Mark) Gockley, of New Providence; son, Raymond LemMon, of Quarryville; grandchildren, Madison, Wesley, and Wade; brothers, Steve (Lisa) LemMon, of Goodrich, MI, and Brian (Laura) LemMon, of South Lyon, MI. He was also survived by Erin Secker and Michael Childress, who were like family to Matt.
Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 14, 2017, at Stumptown Mennonite Church, 2813 Stumptown Road, Bird in Hand, PA, with a viewing at the church from 9:30 – 10:45 a.m. Interment will immediately follow the service in the adjoining church cemetery.
