Mary S. Poff, 93, formerly of York died September 10

    Mary S. Poff, 93, formerly of York, died September 10, 2024 at Quarryville Presbyterian Retirement Community, Quarryville, PA.
    She was the wife of the late W. Douglas Poff.
    Born November 27, 1930 in Allentown, PA, she was the daughter of the late Otto and Charlotte (Cressman) Schoenly.
    Mary taught at Palmyra High School in Palmyra, NJ and also in Willow Grove, PA.  Following teaching, she worked at PHEAA in Harrisburg and retired in 1991.
    Mary received her Bachelor of Science degree from Ursinus College and was a member of the Ursinus College Alumni Association.  She was a member of the York Chapter # 169 Order of the Eastern Star and Eastminster Presbyterian Church in York.  Mary loved to travel.

    Mary is survived by her 3 daughters, Patti Chase and husband, John of Quarryville, Linda Maurer of Lansdale, and Susan Noel of Quarryville; a son, James Noel and wife, Bettina of York; 6 grandchildren, Alexis, Carissa, Sarah, Christine, Adam, and Jennifer; 3 great grandchildren, Noel, Colin, and Elizabeth; and a sister, Martyne Glenn of Galloway, NJ.
    Following cremation, services will be held Saturday, November 30, 2024 at 1:30 p.m. at the Etzweiler Funeral Homes and Cremation Service, 1111 E. Market Street, York.  Pastor Suzanne Personette with Eastminster Presbyterian Church will be officiating.  A visitation will be held from 1:00-1:30 p.m. prior to the service.  A private burial will be in Mount Rose Cemetery.
    In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Canine Partners for Life, P.O. Box 170, Cochranville, PA 19330.
