Linda Mae Todd of Quarryville died at Hershey Medical Center on Wednesday, September 25, 2013. She was 65. Mrs. Todd had been fighting the aftereffects of pancreatitis for seven months. Born in Lancaster, she was a daughter of the late Donald and Agnes Sullivan Eshelman. She, her sister, and her sister-in-law owned and operated Abigail's Trunk in Quarryville through the mid 1990s. Mrs. Todd was an avid reader and an ardent supporter of the Quarryville Library. She served on the library's board of directors and worked with the Friends of the Quarryville Library. For many years, she chaired that group's fall and spring book sale fundraisers. She also helped at the Colerain Township polls on election day and volunteered for other local activities.
Mrs. Todd maintained her good spirits and sense of humor through two battles with cancer and her most recent illness. She is survived by her husband of 45 years, Walter L. Todd Jr.; two sons, Walter III, husband of Cheryl Todd of Quarryville and Donald, husband of Sylvie Todd of Richland, Washington; six grandchildren, Amy Todd, Wyatt Todd, Roman Todd, Remy Todd, Timothy Todd, and Griffin Todd; and her sister, Donna Trimble. Her aunt and uncle, Erma and Robert Bricker, are deceased. A celebration of her life will be held in the Carlson Room of the Quarryville Library, 357 Buck Rd., from 2 to 5 p.m. on Sunday, September 29. The celebration is a informal drop-in with light refreshments. The family will be greeting visitors at the door starting at 2 p.m. Everyone is invited to come at any time and share memories of Linda and her life.
