John W. Haneman, 58, unexpectedly went home to be with his Lord and Savior on February 21, 2019 at his home in Quarryville, while enjoying one of his many hobbies. Born in Ephrata, PA on December 30, 1960, he was the son of the late Ralph and Thelma (Fisher) Haneman. John is survived by his loving wife of 34 years, Deena (Sipe), his son Brent (Brianne) Haneman, daughter Katelyn (Derek) Shelley, two grandchildren, Ian Shelley and Piper Richwine, along with two brothers, David (Sherry) Haneman and Glenn (Connie) Haneman and his three beloved dogs, Lucy, Lester, and Chester. John’s most cherished possession was his family. His love for them was evident in the time he spent with them and the way he spoke about them to others. John enjoyed many hobbies including; woodworking, leather working, painting, scuba diving and many others. He was passionate about making toys for his grandchildren and furniture for his wife. John was an accomplished self-employed professional photographer for over 25years. He then went to school to become a certified paramedic. John was currently employed by the Manheim Township Ambulance Association for over 5 years. One of John's greatest gifts was his abilities to work with people. He always had a witty comeback or something to say that would make you laugh. One of his other passions was firearms and the shooting sports. He thoroughly enjoyed his part time job at Morr Indoor Range and Training Center. John will be dearly missed by his family and those in the community whom he impacted.
Services celebrating John’s life will be at Calvary Church, 1051 Landis Valley Road, Lancaster, PA on Friday, March 1, 2019 at 10:00 am. Friends are invited to visit with the family immediately following the service. Interment will be private.
