John G. Glackin, 81, of Quarryville, entered into rest on Friday, November 11, 2016. Born in the village of Fairfield, he was the son of the late Henry Nelson and Annabelle (Cochran) Glackin. John and his wife, Phyllis A. (Pollock) Glackin had celebrated 26 years of marriage in October. John was a welder by trade. He was a member of Mt. Zion United Methodist Church, Slumber Groundhog Lodge, Washington Lodge #156 F & AM, Mt. Nebo Sportsman Farm and the Susquehanna Beneficial Association. He enjoyed antiquing, NASCAR, trips to Potter County for over 30 years and watching his children and grandchildren participate in sports. In addition to his wife, John is survived by his sons: John A., Jeff N. (Lisa), Tim (Lashon), Joseph D., Randy Aument (Pam) and Kimberly Baker (Jeffrey); along with 13 grandchildren, sisters, Joanne Wenger, Marion and a brother, Michael Glackin. He was preceded in death by a sister, Marcy Glackin.
Services celebrating John’s life will be at Wesley Church, 1104 Kirkwood Pike, Quarryville on Wednesday, November 16, 2016 at 6:00 pm. There will an informal greeting immediately following the service. A private traditional graveside service will be in the Mt. Zion United Methodist Cemetery.
