Isaac Diller Miller, Jr. 92, Quarryville, PA died at his residence on Saturday, May 26, 2018. Born in Quarryville, he was the son of the late Isaac Diller and Edna Herr Miller, Sr. Widowed twice, his first wife was Betty Kilp Miller and his second wife was Dorothy E. Widdowson Miller. An art teacher for 27 years, Ike retired from the Lampeter Strasburg School District. He also owned and operated the Original I. Diller Miller Monument Company in Quarryville. A WWII Army veteran, He served as a T-5, with the 94th Infantry Division in Rhineland. He was a member of Zion United Church of Christ, Strasburg and a life member of the Croaking Frogs. An avid Lionel train toy collector, he was a member of the Train Collectors Association. Ike served as a scout master for the BSA in Quarryville. An avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed hunting and fishing, fly fishing being his forte. A history buff, Ike was a wealth of knowledge regarding the history of the “Southern End”. Surviving him are 5 step children, Deborah L. Atz LeFlar of Brookhaven, PA, William John Atz, III of Sykesville, MD, Richard Scott Atz of Papuillion, NE, Donna L. Atz Thomas of San Jose, CA, and Thomas Edward Atz of Wallingford, PA.
Ike was preceded in death by his son Isaac Diller Miller, III and 2 brothers Robert Miller and Richard Miller. At Ike’s request, there will be a graveside service at Quarryville Cemetery, Park Avenue, Quarryville, PA on Saturday, June 2, 2018 at 11:00AM with Pastor Robert M. Bistline officiating.
