Harry E. Wade, of Refton passed away on May 22, 2019 at Lancaster General Hospital, 8 days short of his 75th birthday. Born in Providence Township, he was the son of the late Richard B. and Bertha V. Eager Wade. He was a 1962 graduate of Solanco High School. He had been employed for more than 30 years for Penn DOT as an equipment operator. Active in the Refton Fire Department, he had served as assistant chief for many years. Harry was a lifetime and active member of the Lancaster County Sportsmans Association in Mt. Nebo. Upon his passing, he was surrounded by his most beloved daughters, Suzanne “Micki” married to Troy Lutz of Willow Street, Jodi R. married to Eric Riley of Lititz; grandchildren, Tyler and Andrea (Tracy) Lutz, Amanda Lutz and fiancé William Wallace, PFC Nathaniel Riley and companion Olivia Orndorff, Alyssa Riley and companion Mike Swonger; and a great granddaughter Andrianna Wallace.
Harry was here on earth for a good time, not a long time. He lived life to the fullest. Right up to the moment his loved ones placed him into the outstretched arms of Jesus. Just like placing him into a hammock of relaxation. A memorial service will be held at Lampeter United Methodist Church, 1101 Village Road, Lancaster, PA on Sunday, June 9, 2019 at 2:00 PM. A visitation will be held from 1-2:00 PM at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Lancaster County Sportsman, 573 Hilldale Road, Holtwood, PA 17532, c/o Harry Wade Benefit.
