Galen Leon “G-Man” or “Catfish” Trout, 72, of Beaver Valley Pike, New Providence, PA, died Friday, June 14, 2019, peacefully while being surrounded by his loving family at his residence following a short illness. He and his wife Jane E. Groff Trout celebrated 50 years of marriage. Born in Lancaster, he was the son of the late Nelson Harry and Inez Margret Grumbling Trout. Galen was employed as a butcher/meat cutter his entire life working for the former F&S Meats, R. P. Howery and lastly at Musser’s Market for the past 20 years. He proudly served his country in the US Army Reserve during the Vietnam War. Galen was a member of the Quarryville Lions Club and a lifetime member of the Pequea Sportsmans Association. He enjoyed target shooting and hunting, dancing, bowling, camping, and various sports.
Surviving beside his wife Jane are 4 children, Melissa J. wife of Arcadio Rosario, Jr, Nelson J. Trout, Christine S. wife of Justin Trout, Darlene M. Trout; 3 grandchildren, Justin (Paige Fulmer) Trout, Jr., Brianna Rosario, Shane Trout; and 4 siblings, Ronald (Jeanette) Trout, Larry Trout, Joyce (Jack) Combs, and Barry (Joan) Trout. Funeral services will be held at New Providence Church of God, 269 Cinder Road, New Providence, PA on Friday at 11:00AM with Pastor Dwight Lefever officiating. Traditional interment will be private at Georgetown United Methodist Cemetery. Viewings will be held at Reynolds Funeral & Cremation Services, Inc., 144 East State Street, Quarryville, PA on Thursday, from 6:00-9:00PM and again at the church from 10:00AM until the time of service.
