Fred Swinehart, passed away suddenly on Monday, July 24, 2017 while vacationing in Florida, he was 71. Born in Lancaster, he was the son of the late Arthur and Zaida (Rodeffer) Swinehart. Fred is survived by his wife Ronna, his daughter, Kimberlyn and his son, Scott Swinehart, husband of Shelly, all of New Providence. Also surviving is a half-sister, Marie Sterling of Mountville; a sister Sharon, wife of Frank Pannell of New Providence; a brother, Ed Swinehart and wife Eileen of Quarryville; and sister, Darlene wife of William Zittle of Hebron, MD. Fred also had several nieces and nephews. He worked part-time for Central Penn Transport as a truck driver for 18 months. Prior he had worked for Phoenix Courier and Leffler Energy. He also worked for over 20 years as a driver for Coast Distribution in Lancaster. Fred enjoyed camping and traveling all over the East Coast. He also enjoyed hiking, bicycling, riding his motorcycle, hunting and visiting Disney World and other parks; including water parks on the Eastern Coast. But his first love was being around his family at reunions and functions, where he could host and invent games for the kids.
Friends are invited to visit with the family on Wednesday, August 2, 2017 at Dewald Funeral & Cremation Services, 227 W. 4th Street, Quarryville, PA from 9:30 until 10:30 am followed by the funeral service. Interment will follow in Conestoga Memorial Park. The family requests that you don’t wear a suit and tie but dress casual and wear any Disney related items that you may have.
