Elmo E. Taylor, age 88, of Brogue, PA, passed away at his home on Tuesday, August 24, 2021. He was the husband of the late Mary Ann Cocivera Taylor, who passed away on September 5, 2006. He was born in Brogue, son of the late Oliver Vernard & Emma Arnold Taylor. He was a member of McKendree United Methodist Church for over 70 years. He graduated from the former Lower Chanceford High School. Elmo worked as a heavy equipment operator and was a member of the International Union of Operating Engineers. As a young man he traveled across the United States. He enjoyed bowling, being in charge and was known for helping others. He is survived by 3 children: John E. husband of Jody Hake Taylor of Brogue, Rosella B. wife of Kendall Madonna of Kirkwood, Vernard L. "Nard" husband of Angie Wilson Taylor of Brogue, 6 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, 3 siblings: Nancy wife of the late Mervin Grove of Red Lion, Samuel husband of Kay Snyder Taylor of Brogue, Geraldine wife of the late Franklin King of Red Lion.
He was preceded in death by 3 siblings: Delores A. wife of the late Willis Tyson, J. Donnell late husband of Margaret "Peggy" Taylor of Delta, Joe A. late husband of Sue Ann Ludwig Taylor of Morganton, NC, and his first wife Betty L. M. Yuengling Petrucci. Funeral service will take place from the McKendree United Methodist Church, 3706 Delta Road, Airville, PA on Sunday, August 29th at 2 p.m. with a viewing time from 1 p.m until time of service. Pastor Gary Allshouse will be officiating. Graveside service will be on Monday, August 30th at 10 a.m. in the Susquehanna Memorial Gardens, 250 Chestnut Hill Road, York. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Elmo's memory to Hospice and Community Care, PO Box 4125, Lancaster 17604 or to McKendree UM Church.
