Clyde Richard “Rick” Aument, Jr., of Quarryville, passed away on Monday, January 24, 2022 at his home. He was the beloved husband of Lillian Marie (Rhodes) Aument, with whom he shared 40 years of marriage. Born in Lancaster, he was the son of the late Clyde Richard, Sr. and June (Osman) Aument. Rick was a graduate of Solanco High School, class of 1972. After graduating high school, Rick worked on his family farm. Aument Trucking. Very involved in the Quarryville community, Rick was elected to Quarryville Borough Council on January 4, 2010 and he was appointed to the Quarryville Borough Authority on April 3, 2017, serving in both roles until he passed away. Evidenced by his employment, Rick loved his jobs as a truck driver and got along with everyone he worked with. Over the years, Rick enjoyed camping, fishing, woodworking, building bird houses, and riding his Can-Am Spyder. He was an excellent husband, and though he never had children of his own, he was very close with his stepchildren and step-grandchildren. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his stepsons, Robert Brazee, husband of Brenda, of Airville, and David Baker, husband of Allissa, of Nottingham; stepdaughters, Valerie Smith, wife of Kevin, of Willow Street, Vicki Metzler, wife of Christopher, of Peach Bottom, Peggy Arment, wife of David, of Stevens, and Melissa Sizemore, wife of John, of Peach Bottom; brother, Paul Aument, of Wrightsville; sisters, Jonell Stauffer, wife of Leon, of Quarryville, Joyce Horning, wife of Randy, of West Lampeter, and Carol Kirkwood, wife of George, of Lebanon; sister-in-law, Wanda Aument, of Lancaster; and a stepmother, Beverly Styer Aument, of Quarryville. He is also survived by 13 step-grandchildren and 12 step-great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, David Aument, and a step-grandson, Gary Roland, Jr. A Celebration of Rick’s Life will be held at 12:00 noon on Saturday, February 5, 2022 at Faith Reformed Presbyterian Church, 611 Robert Fulton Highway, Quarryville, PA.
